It wouldn't be about it being confidential.. Just easier for you to tally the polls without weeding out every week

I beginning to think that Georgia fans suck. Win a big game first.

Come again? We've won many big games. How many conference titles does oregon have? National titles? Wins? Bowl wins? You're a program, similar to florida in the 90s, that is a johnny come lately. You didn't have jack shite until about 10 years ago. From your first football program up until the start of the 21st century you didn't have squat to hang your hat on. And even now, you still don't have much. You've taken advantage of playing in a weak conference to finish in the top 10 in the polls for a few years, which is a major feat for you program I'm sure. And even though this is the glory days of your program, the pinnacle, the golden era of your entire football history...you still don't have a national title.

Georgia is a top 12 national program of all time. We have more wins than you, more national titles, more conference titles in a better conference, more heisman winners, more bowl wins, more of basically everything that a program is measure by. So STFU.

Yeah, I find it hilarious that a dawg fan is laughing at an ar-Kansas ranking

Why? Do they have a defense? They don't even have a coach. They have 2 automatic losses before the season even starts. What would lead you to believe that arkansas is the 7th best team in the whole country?

I didn't say they are worthy of being ranked that high. I also dont believe Georgia is deserving of that high of a ranking either.

You obviously don't have a clue about Oregon if you think they've just been around for ten years. A few more years need to be tacked on.

They are a newcomer to the big stage year in and out though, can agree on that. I mean hell, we're talking about a state with little high school D1 prospects. They've been doing more with less than A LOT of schools in the last couple of decades.

Eta....all I gotta say about that, not going to argue with a 12 year old who happens to have Internet access.

Paging bison...

You said it was funny I was laughing at their ranking, that would lead one to believe you feel their ranking is appropriate. Where should they be ranked?

And why shouldn't we be ranked 6th where we are? We had the 5th best defense in the nation last year and return 11 starters. Teams won't score on us. We return all of our wide receivers, one of the best QBs in the SEC, and have an easy arse schedule. Where should we be ranked?

The only good teams you played last year would disagree with you

I'm aware enough about myself to realize that I'm not knowledgeable enough about everyone in the country to form a legitimate, competent top 25. However, I DO know that you have overrated those 3 teams. And underrated USC. I don't like USC, but they deserve to be higher.

He put USC at #8 and not #22. Depth and DL are going to test USC.

nice to see some heavy hitters join the poll! looks like this will be a go! gonna aim for 50-60 guys and move forward from there; we need more B1G and ACC representatives.

I have always been a fan of no rankings until the 3rd or 4th week so we can really gauge where teams stand.

The polls basically do this anyway. A team ranked higher will lose a couple and drop. If they waited till mid season and LSU or USC or Bama etc are unbeaten, they would be ranked at the top anyway.

My first poll is based almost strictly on how good I think each team is (i.e. if every team in college football played each other on a neutral field 100 times, who would fare the best, the second best, etc.). It is NOT a prediction on what I think their records will be or where they finish in the final poll (so, basically, I'm not taking schedules into account at all). I use last season's results slightly as a guide, but I think some teams may overperform or underperform based not only on guys lost, but how they won or lost games last year, outside circumstances, etc.

As the season progresses, my poll each week will gradually move from ranking each team from how good I think they are to ranking by actual on-field results. For example, if in week 13, I am choosing between a 9-2 Big Ten team and an 10-1 SEC team, the SEC team will be ranked ahead, even if I think the Big Ten team would win at a neutral site.

1. USC
2. Alabama
3. LSU
4. Oklahoma
5. FSU
6. Georgia
7. Oregon
8. West Virginia
9. Wisconsin
10. South Carolina

This poll was a lot more difficult than I thought it'd be. This year could be wide open.
