I think it is and it isnt even close. If this is his only transgression then its enough. However, if he covered this up then how do we know he didnt cover up anything else? He owned that small town media created an image of upstanding character and then this comes out. There was already rumors of his covering up player misconduct can we really know if he didnt cover up any NCAA rules violations? Would the NCAA have ever followed up on any leads with Joe Paterno? Paterno showed over the past 2 decades that it was all about him and his ego and legacy....I dont think its safe to assume that he was clean and "did it the right way" (within NCAA rules) anymore.

He reported it. He did what he was supposed to do. The higher ups fumbled this situation. And, he didn't witness anything, he reported what had been reported to him. So, I don't see him as one who "sacrificed children for the sake of personal glory".

He only reported it to his co-conspirators.... Paterno and the Adminstration asked the DA not to prosecute... that it would not be a problem again..... they covered it up from the start... Paterno deserves to go to jail and have his Statue removed and his name removed from all the football records... strip him of all of it!!!! still not as bad as what the victims have been through and will keep going thru.....!!!!

As far as on the field and blatantly obvious is the sack record by Strahan.

This conspiracy just gets more imaginative everyday on the internet.

Was it the same DA in the Duke Lacrosse Case?

Duke Lacrosse! Duke Lacrosse! Duke Lacrosse! Because everyone knew everything about their guilt in what...3 days! It was a slam dunk, we knew everything...the DA told us it was a slam-dunk!

I was never impressed with JoePud's "longevity" trophy. Watching the games and listening to his interviews over the past few years, it was pretty obvious that he was riding the bench to pad his stats.

How would we have seen Ripken's record if he had limped out onto the diamond while his teammates backed him up like he was a little leaguer?

The taint is heavier on those players/coaches that directly cheated to get their records. A homerun record with a steroids asterisk beats most anything else.
