All he’s gotta say is the guy was running toward the sideline and felt the need to defend himself, didn’t know what he was gonna do next. Should be good.
But taking our litigator hats off for a second, there’s just basic right and wrong. Running onto an NFL field with a flare is wrong and if somebody wants to knock you into next week for it, I’m good. Play stupid games.

Protestor was trespassing and disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
“I just saw someone running on the field,” Wagner said after the game. “It looked like he wasn’t supposed to be on the field. I saw security was having a problem, so I helped them out.”
I mean I've never heard of a player being charged or having to pay damages in all the years of this happening with tackling a stupid fan running onto the field.
