It's a weak year. Harper is the obvious #1 IMO, but since he hasn't played he probably won't get it.

I think Brown is getting less love than he should. He went off in AA and AAA before his call to the majors. The Phils were dumb as shite to keep him on the bench. I would put him above Trout. Maybe Hellickson too.

Let me get this straight. The top prospect in all of baseball is a guy who has never played a game above A-ball? Trout's a hell of a prospect, but #1? Can we at least see how he handles AA?

LOL ur dum.

The handbook has the top 50 lists of 3 or 4 writers not the actual list.

Teheran will be higher on Baseball America's list according to DOB. Saw him pitch in person last year. HOL-EEEE frick.

DOB?

he could be higher, but Harper is the best prospect in baseball bar none.

Trout is good, but they arent even sure his power will develop

I agree 100%.

I also agree with the post about D. Brown. Phillies bringing him up to ride the pine was a piss poor decision.

And, albeit in a small sample size, his numbers went down significantly when he moved up to high A. Certainly not enough to knock him off prospect lists, but still. For a #1 prospect, that's a big question mark.

all depends on his D. His bat is special. If he can be an average defensive C (highly unlikely), I think he is the best prospect in baseball. If he can stick at C but be below average, he is still a top 5 prospect. If he has to move to DH (most likely), I couldn't put him ahead of a Moustakas or Hosmer.

Not sure if Mejia qualifies for their list, but he should be a top 50 prospect on any list.

Then again their handling of him last season was the worst of any prospect in baseball.

Mejia is 52 according to MLB Network.
