Looking like Jaime Garcia to the Yankees is picking up a ton of steam.

Did the Gray deal fall through? Are they going after both?

Seeing multiple reports that fhe Yanks and Twins are close to a Jaime Garcia deal that won't have any affect on the sonny gray negotiations. Zach Littell was pulled from his start earlier tonight and a Yankee beat writer said he was being involved in talks about a different player than sonny gray so may be a Littell for Garcia swap

Now Jon Morosi just tweeted this

Source: #Twins have discussed Zack Littell in Jaime Garcia talks. Littell is the #Yankees No. 22 prospect, scratched from Sat. start. @MLB

i legit didnt know that a team could do this. i assumed the CBA had rules like the NBA where teams cant just flip players right after acquiring them but i guess not

Looking like the Yankees are gonna go with a 6-man rotation down the stretch.

At one point, they had 66 games in 69 days to end the season - only three off days. This would give guys that extra day between starts, and also give younger guys like Severino and Montgomery less innings to work. Tanaka is also significantly better on 5 days rest as opposed to 4, dating back to the 6-man rotations used in Japan.

The strategy makes sense.

Wasn't Piazza traded twice in a week? He somehow was traded to the Marlins, and traded to the Mets right after that.

I'm surprised he's still working for the Padres.

Yankees also only paying the vet minimum with the Twins picking up the rest of his salary.

The Rockies appear to be in talks with the Rangers about a trade that would send catcher Jonathan Lucroy to Colorado, as Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram tweets that “Lucroy to Rockies has legs.” MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan tweetsthat he, too, hears there’s a possibility that the Rockies will add Lucroy.

Yeah, Piazza was traded to the Marlins on 5-15-98, played five games and got an RBI, and then was traded to the Mets on 5-22-98.

I know he hasn't hit well this season but a move to that stadium could help. Will Colorado have a spot in it's lineup that can't rake?

The Yanks didn't give up much, so it's worth a shot.

Would assume he is coming to be a back up at C/1B

Guess he will be starting, didn't realize how bad the Rockies catchers have been

They want to limit Montgomery as well, his career high is 140 innings and he is at 108 now. So 6 man rotation or skipping starts for him in the future.
