What kind of package is Detroit asking for Verlander? Like a ransom?

You're the New York Yankees. Absorb the whole damn contract and send the Tigers a lottery ticket prospect.

So everyone wants to get a stud but not give up anything

The market is too hot, whichever teams gets these guys are going to pay or end up with a Francisco liriano

Gray has a 1.36 ERA in his last 6 starts holding hitters to a .164 avg. The A's can always hold. They aren't taking some team's B Level prospects - especially is NY, LA, and HOU are in the running. They are going to give each of those teams an opportunity to best the other's offer

I don't want the Yankees to get Gray or Darvish. Settle on someone like Garcia or Stroman

If Sabathia continues his solid season, he'll be in the rotation next year. Anything that doesn't include him, as of now, is unrealistic.

Hopefully Tanaka's bum arse opts out or whatever

Chance Adams is close to being ready he has a lot of sonny gray qualities to him in my opinion.

Depends on what kinda contract he wants and what the Yankees offer. I think they will off a fair deal but will it be a multi-year? What if they offer 1 year 15 million and the Indians or someone comes in at 2 years 26, do you take the money or security?

Ummm I'd rather Stroman than Gray. I don't think that would be "settling"

That dude is a baller and isn't a free agent until like 2021.

Getting stroman isn't settling, he's about equal to gray in cost

Now Garcia would be settling but is he really better than what you have?

I think Cleveland is the only place he'd leave for.

Would Garcia be better? Probably slightly when you consider that #5 spot is a revolving door right now.

Looking for a dark horse? Try the Padres, who would be somewhat of a curious match, considering that most of their best prospects are in the lower minors. The Pads, though, have shown steady interest in Gray, apparently viewing him as a possible fit in their long-term plan.

I think he would leave for a west coast team to be closer to his family (he is from California I believe)

Idk I'd rather throw chance adams out there than Garcia. Personally I don't think the yanks should do anything, they are ahead of their timeline and are essentially playing with house money.

I've been on the Adams train, he has nothing left to prove in the minors. I think you wait till next year to make a real move when you can see how things shake out.

Rosenthal now tweets that the Nationals are not, in fact, in on either Gray or Rangers ace Yu Darvish. Rather, the team might simply elect to pursue another reliever to further boost the back of the bullpen.
