Astros claiming four teams are still in on Norris. Oberholtzer was named the starter for tonight (was Norris then Bedard and now Oberholtzer. Possible Bedard gets moved as well as Norris.

Kennedy pitching in PetCo is a great idea. But aren't those teams in the same division and trying to catch the Dodgers?

Yup

1:52 p.m. EDT update: The Arizona Republic’s Nick Piecoro reports that San Diego and Arizona are close to an agreement. The Diamondbacks would get left-handed reliever Joe Thatcher and a prospect.

This is funny. The second place team trading with the fourth place team to help the fourth place team knock off the second place team.

It's great how one reporter tweets one thing and then another almost immediately tweets the complete opposite. Makes following rumors during trade deadlines, drafts, etc., completely pointless.

Yeah I was looking at MLB trade rumors.com earlier and a lot of them make no sense.....

"Braves not interested in Norris" posted 10 minutes ago
"Norris could still be moved, braves, pirates, among teams interested" posted 7 minutes ago
"Braves leading candidates for Norris" posted 5 minutes ago
"Braves don't know what they want" posted 30 seconds ago

(No this isn't how it looks but it is actually close)

Bedard has also been scratched, maybe something going on with him.

Yeah, seems like conflicting reports on whether the Braves want Norris or not.

Rosenthal is usually accurate though.

Passon has sources too, so I dunno.

Well it isn't just with the Braves and Norris....
Earlier it had Pirates close with Morneau then not interested, then back to being leading team, to now Morse....

Check my post a couple pages back about the Orioles and Saunders. It was literally one entry right after the other, 9 minutes apart..."Orioles interested in Saunders", "Saunders not a target for Orioles".

Wonder who would actually acquire Bedard.... I know it isn't Pirates sounds like something Indians would do

any team that takes Norris is stupid.

bedard was apart of one of the biggest trade rapes in history

This tweet sums it up

Two men, one start. Neither saw it coming. In theaters this fall. Bud Norris and Erik Bedard are … #Scratched.

Norris is a young back of rotation starter, would be a solid 4 for a playoff team. As long as not giving up a top prospect he is fine because he isn't really a difference maker IMO

1:33pm: Sources say that a deal sending Dioner Navarro from the Cubs to the Cardinals is "possible" but not close, tweets Jayson Stark of ESPN.com (via Twitter).
