Rich Smith ?@ALLsportsINTEL 1h MLB – Dodgers are reportedly willing to trade any 3 top prospects to Phillies for Cliff Lee and take on all of Lee’s contract.

Why not?
He's been a top 5 2B in the AL for the past 5 years.
Because he's only played 150 games twice. He's a regular on the DL. I like him, but fragile 31 year olds don't magically get more healthy as they age. Also, 2B as a group, age like crap.

I'd have kept him because he would have netted the lowest return, and he's still a way above average 2b.
I don't think kinsler is the centerpiece of a Stanton or Jupton trade last summer for example, but profar and Elvis definitely are.

This seems odd. Why'd St. Louis dump him?

He's been in minors most of season having fallen out of favor last year

...plus they have a bazillion arms in their system that they've been shuffling up and down all year. Too much talent.

Not seeing what the overall infatuation with this guy is... .270/13 homers :yawngif:
13 homers with that field as your home park is something, plus he has been hurt for a little while this season.
Stanton in the Rangers ballpark would be a dream come true. Or he goes to Boston with the short left field and could rake there as well

Rzepcynski has pretty much been getting shelled this year, and to make room for younger arms
Guess I shouldn't have made a thread for it and just discussed it in here, oh well

What's the word on Peavy right now?
Posted on 7/30/13 at 5:30 pm to Wishnitwas1998
Last I saw White Sox lowered their asking price.... Nothing new
Posted on 7/30/13 at 5:30 pm to tduecen
Supposedly the Cards are interested, I really don't know if that's true or not
Posted on 7/30/13 at 5:48 pm to Wishnitwas1998
Anything new on Norris?

I'm calling it now....Jake Peavy to the Braves. A move that would make a lot of sense with the Braves pitching situation/injuries.

The Cardinals have contacted the Angels about Erick Aybar.
Oh damn did I call that if it happens.

He gives us speed but is he really that much better than Kozma otherwise?
