@DEvanAltman
He doesn't use it according to FanGraphs, but Chris Sale busted out the cutter in a big way tonight.

@Ken_Rosenthal
Sources say: Sale cut up throwbacks during batting practice. Upset that, in his view, PR and jersey sales were more important than winning.

Sources: #Yankees telling clubs that they are close to trading Chapman and will hold Miller.

I'd be happy but it's by far the least of DC's needs, as that pen has been damn good.

They need to trade for a proctologist that can get Bryce's head out of his arse. And a center fielder.

Timing makes sense as the Nats have a slew of 25-man moves they have to make over the next few days with various DL stints ending etc.

Any chance Trea could take over in CF? I know they briefly experimented with it in triple A.

Yea, no kidding. I don't trust anyone but Jansen in the playoffs. We def have a need for a guy like Chapman.

Probably better trusting him while he's having a solid year then whatever frick from AAA we keep having to recall and throw out there to labor threw 5.2 innings

The need for a starter is much greater

I agree. But don't try to tell me we don't have a need for a flame thrower like Chapman. The bullpen crumbles in the playoffs regularly.

dude can lose it at the drop of a hat. You dont want that dude pitching with the game on the line in the playoffs

sure we could need him. We could use a multiple different players in different situations. Doesn't change the fact that our biggest need is getting a starter and we aren't going to trade a major prospect away to grab an arm out of the pen when a) our pen has the second best Era in baseball and b) we are still pursuing a starter

and it's a good thing that we have other pitchers out of our pen who are also having really good seasons right now

Chapman and Gardner for several top prospects would help the Nationals on so many levels
