but the Yankees need to just pay the price if the Mets are serious about moving one of Thor or DeGrom.

You would be ok giving up a combination of Andujar, Florial, Sheffield, Adams, Abreu, Frazier

If the Yankees could grab one for Tate, Adams, and Frazier I would love to see them jump on it, but that aint happening.

Correct, but his numbers this year are pretty bad so his price tag should not be horrible, more than Happ but less than DeGrom. Plus when he is on he can be elite, maybe he needs a change of scenery or something.

Indians need help in the OF, do they make a move for someone like Choo. I'm assuming they could get him for relatively few prospects if they take on the salary.

If I could get one for Abreu, Sheffield, Andujar; I would do it all day. As long as Torres isnt mentioned, Im fine moving the pieces listed above.

No way I would give up Andujar who has proven himself at the MLB level. Trade him then the Yankees need a 3B, unless you plan on putting Drury back at 3B and letting Walker/Bird/Austin handle 1B with Torreys as the main utility guy.

I meant Florial, not Andujar. If thats all it takes for DeGrom, then do it.

Florial I'm ok trading at this point with Judge, Hicks, and Stanton in the OF. Plus Bretty is going to resign for a 3 year deal to help out. He doesn't have a position for a couple of more years.

frazier is the kid they got from the indians? is he still highly touted?

as you said it doesn't seem like the yankees will have any room for him going forward. might as well move him for a star guy.

are braves in the hunt for machado at all? i'd like to see him land there. i know they have swanson and he is really really good defensively, but i think machado really puts that lineup over the top. maybe he, swanson, and camargo could all platoon between 3rd and short somehow.

Correct, he has held his own at the MLB level and destroyed AAA so far. Waiting for him to really break out but he needs playing time.

They've at least spoken to the O's about him I'm sure. Hell I believe every team that has postseason aspirations has spoken to the O's

They would trade Andujar before Florial.

The yankees would be dumb to even give away a player for him.

They need starting pitcher, after soriano, their staff is not good. Also, they have a SS, and a 3b.

c'mon, unless they improve their staff, they will have one of the worst pitching staff in playoffs(AL), and the drop is significant. They will have to out hit everyone.

They need to make a play for at least 1 starter, if not 2.

The Yankees continue to hold Blue Jays left-hander J.A. Happ in high regard and have him near the top of their list of “realistic” trade targets as the deadline approaches, tweets Fancred’s Jon Heyman. (Notably, Heyman adds that the Yankees don’t consider either Jacob deGrom or Noah Syndergaard to fall into that “realistic” category.) However, to this point, the Yankees believe the asking price on Happ to be too high for talks to become serious. The Mariners and Cubs have also been linked to Happ in recent weeks, and it seems it’s merely a matter of time until the southpaw finds himself in a new jersey.

The Giants might not be done making moves to shed salary, reports Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle. The team seemingly dubbed Austin Jackson and Cory Gearrin expendable and shed their remaining salary in Sunday’s trade with the Rangers, and Schulman wonders if the Giants would also take a similar course with either Derek Holland or Sam Dyson

quote:

The Red Sox have been scouting Zach Britton since he was activated from the disabled list, tweets Heyman. The Sox and Orioles aren’t frequent trade partners but did line up a couple of years back in the Andrew Miller/Eduardo Rodriguez swap, and Boston president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski has already pulled off one intra-division swap in 2018, acquiring Steve Pearce from the Blue Jays.

If the Mariners can widen that gap further, the Angels may have little choice but to turn an eye toward 2019, which would likely result in Garrett Richards being made available in trades.

If you were waiting for the other shoe to drop, it apparently has. Sources say Red Sox have responded to reports of renewed Yankee interest in Manny Machado with renewed interest of their own. #orioles #MannyMania

tanaka is a big swing and miss guy and his stuff plays in postseason when balls don't fly out of the yard as much.

as for sabathia i haven't seen him this year but his numbers look very solid. a quick search says he ranks in the top 5 in the league in opponents' exit velo, which tells me his numbers this season aren't much of a fluke.

i think they'll be in the market for one starting pitcher.

i just cant see the haul for Chado being as weak as it is being reported when so many teams are in the fold.

Balt is going to get some good players. I think they end up with a frontline prospect

The market for rentals has completely bottomed out since 2016. They should have traded him this winter
