Only because he struggled this season. It's actually more than fair value for a reliever of his caliber. We aren't in the 90s and early 2000s anymore. Relievers get paid.

Bill Dewitt has a cash cow.

Cardinals make money, hand over fist.

And they have a mediocre TV(local) deal right now. Next one, they will make even more coin.

Cishek is more than a 7th inning guy.

He will see closing time. Rosie is going to be on fumes and Mo knows it.

We've watched this before with Rosie, he cannot go 3 straight, and has history of struggles late in season when he goes back to back.

He's been getting the outs, but he will be on fumes if he doesn't get days off as Closer.

They signed their TV deal at the wrong time, I hate how MLB decides small market vs big market... imo they should do these "extra" picks but standings. Give teams a chance to build from the bottom rather than rewarding a team like the Cards, Pirates, Tampa, because of market size.

Maybe a few, was more of Walden's job when Rosey was not available and Jordan was excellent.

Guess it depends on Jordan's rehab, but I'd still guess Cishek 8th and Jordan closing when Rosey isn't available like before.

Ah... I honestly don't think the big names get dealt... for someone reason I think Phillies keep Hamels, Tigers keep Price, Reds keep Chapman and Leake....

maybe Cueto being only big name dealt

weird predicament for their GM, he's never been a seller, he's usually the guy giving up the prospects for veterans.

From rosenthal

The Dodgers are looking to add, not add and subtract, sources say. The rumor I heard -- Puig and two top prospects for Reds right-hander Johnny Cueto and closer Aroldis Chapman -- would have amounted to addition and subtraction.
