Red Sox just got Adley.

I think that's bigger than LA getting Skubal.

Brenton Doyle to the CWS. Rutch is about to be announced to the Red Sox barring any last second fallouts

I’m not gonna go that far, but this significantly improves Boston

I am. LA Already had the best postseason rotation. Meanwhile, the hottest team in MLB just filled it's one main need with arguably the best C in the game.

115 OPS+ elite defensive catcher is a pretty big get.

He’s still a good player for sure, but that’s a nutty statement

Hottest team right now, coming off a sweep in LA.
RedSox not sitting on their hands.
Going after it.

Buddy what do you want from your catcher if 115OPS+ for the year is nutty

Regarding the Taylor Ward trade, turns out he got the call while he was hosting his local baseball camp. That’s gotta be a tough situation to navigate personally while in front of a ton of kids

Skubal is arguably the most dominant pitcher in the game

And he went to a team where it doesn't even matter.

Context is key.

If adding Skubal to the Dodgers doesn’t matter, then none of these moves matter

That’s not the argument. Going from platooning Connor Wong and Carlos Narvaez to Adley Rutschman who’s under control through 2028 is a more impactful deal.

The Dodgers getting Skubal means the Brewers dont and now the Dodgers dont have to face Miz and Skubal potentially 4 times over 7 games

Bigger

Well, he was getting traded no matter what according to Passan. So it kinda does matter that he didn't go to another contender in the NL that the Dodgers will have to face.

Adley is under control through 2027. He is good, not the best catcher in baseball like the other guy said in my opinion. A pitcher like Skubal can single handedly flip a series. We will have to agree to disagree

And if the opinion is that the Dodgers are so good that trading for Skubal doesn’t matter, I’m not sure why that person is even following what’s going on today
