They are in an odd position, they have the players to be legit sellers at the deadline but this run has them in the thick of the Wild Card so they could be buyers.
They will need to find a balance but would probably be better off selling and getting some upper level talent that is close to the majors.
Lyles, Lopez, Mancini, Santander could/should be moved but reality maybe only Santander gets moved from that group.

I feel like the exact same thing can be said about Boston.

Boston is at least currently in, Baltimore is 2 games out and probably playing over their head a bit.

Too many playoff teams takes away some of the trade deadline excitement. Thanks, Manfred.
ETA: White Sox, Cleveland, Texas, and Miami would probably all be sellers in previous years, but now they are all within 4.5 games of a playoff spot.

Even the Angel's are only 8 out, Oakland and KC are only legitimate teams out right now in the AL
Washington, Cincinnati, and the Cubs in the NL only teams 10 or more out

Not for long if they continue playing like they are right now. The last three games collectively has been some terrible baseball - right on par with the 10-19 start. Guys just don't looked focused, very few are playing with energy and we've been making way too many little league type mistakes.

The New York Yankees are acquiring utilityman Tyler Wade in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels, a source familiar with the deal tells ESPN.
The Angels DFA'd Wade earlier this month. And now he heads back to the team that drafted him and where he spent his first five seasons.

Yankees are unlikely to continue pursuit of Andrew Benintendi since he is unvaccinated. NYY has 6 games left in Toronto and could meet Jays in playoffs. Yanks are the one team to send their complete roster to play in Toronto.
Ward is probably vaccinated.

No they aren't. Houston and Texas did as well.
As I learned earlier today.

Heyman posted this just now
Why are the Yankees suddenly not interested if they've known for awhile?

Teams pursuing Benintendi were informed by the Royals of the Benintendi vax status awhile back. Many are still in. That includes even the Jays (as of yesterday) as they are apparently hopeful he may agree to get the vax if he’s dealt there.

Because he had time to get vaccinated before the series in Toronto and still chose not to. So now that his stance is firm then they aren't interested.

Would have to figure they knew as recently as yesterday about this and still were interested. Yankees should still be interested because both KC players they've been linked to are sitting as Taylor is not valued as well

Since the start of 2018 he has 6.2 WAR and has made almost $98M in that time according to baseball reference.

Corey Seager replaced Springer which I don't understand. There are other players I would have picked
