Keep it at 162 games, go back to one wildcard and get rid of the stupid automatic runner in extra innings.

154 games is a better product, but is going to make some records even harder to break.

Need to cut the number of games down by another 50.

agreed

NHL and NBA only play what? 84 & 82?

baseball does not need to be over 100 games. that is enough.

I think a more logical fix is just to seed by best-record so you avoid scenarios like we had with the AL West this season.

I just don't want to get to where the division standings don't matter at all, like the NBA. I feel like that's a part of baseball. I wish they'd just go ahead and make the change from 6 divisions to 4 right now. That would pretty much fix the seeding problem and preserve the division races.

I don't like the selection idea at all. That's just manufactured drama.

So each team is losing 4 home games.

Strange that MLB is proposing it, unless it is to build in more flexibility to make up any rain outs.

Agreed on two divisions per league and the winners being awarded the top 2 seeds and getting a bye. That is proving more and more to be a big advantage, despite the inital fears about being rusty from the time off.

100 game schedule would be optimal, maybe 120.

Most people lose interest in baseball once the football is kicked off

You mean the average meat head football fan that only has a passing interest in baseball stops watching when football season starts. That’s a big loss. His 5 minutes a week watching baseball and not buying merch or game tickets is really going to be missed.
