I wonder if Baltimore will grant them an extension period. I don’t see how you could trade for him without having one if you’re a club like the White Sox, even if it means giving up more in the form of prospects.

Wondering if the deal with the White Sox involves any MLB ready players, I assume if the White Sox are willing to trade for Manny then Jose A. is not being moved. Matt Davidson to Baltimore + prospects?

It sounds like it will be for 2 pitching prospects and it will be the 2 pitchers they got out of the Adam Eaton trade. Baltimore wants pitching prospects for Machado. White Sox have a lot money available and think they can sign Machado. This has disaster written all over it for the White Sox.

Some tend to think trading for a player early enhances their chances of resigning him. I get the thinking, but Manny just wants to go to the highest bidder, he wants to get paid. Kinda like Greinke

I assume to make this happen, they will get a handshake agreement, but that obviously doesn't mean anything.

It'll probably be one of Cease, Hansen, or Dunning headlining a package imo. They'll probably dump Fulmer in it as well if it happens.
