Yeah, the idea of Hanley playing 1B everyday scares me.

I think Hanley is the biggest loser of PT here. JBJ’s defense is really hard to take out of the lineup, and even in a down 2017 he wasn’t awful at the plate.

yea i think hanley is the one who suffers from this more than JBJ

either way, really good looking deal for boston

There are some whispers that Hanley’s shoulder may be a long term issue. If he is limited again this season, this JDM deal becomes even more important to the Sox

Yeah Boston getting him for 5 years and 110 million is a fricking bargain. Thought he would at least get the 125 million for 5 years.

I think there are two different opt outs.

One after two years and another after three years.

So the Rays are setting up for a Chris Archer bidding war at the deadline. Who wins?

Would be a good fit with the rangers but they don't have what it takes to make it happen

He'll be in Milwaukee if they miss out on arrieta or cobb or lynn

At this point I think it's worth them holding on to Archer and let the market demand drive up toward the deadline.

After a review of your scouting report, the DAT may consider drafting you ahead of the 2018 season.

We actually do have the prospects I think, especially if they're interested in a 2-4 year rebuild. That's how far away our best prospects are, bar Calhoun.

I'd probably give up if we made the move though. We are already so thin as is.

Rangers sign their second affiliate deal of the off-season, this time with the LG Twins of the KBO.

Texas also traded for some international money yesterday. Are considered front runners for Cuban CF Julio Pablo Martinez.

Other teams interested are supposedly Miami and NYY, but their international money is dried up. He could sign with Texas at any time now, or could wait until July when the new signing period begins if he wishes to sign elsewhere for more money.

Nice. I'm going to read up on those agreements. That's pretty interesting. I imagine league rules would prevent free player movement like a true minor league affiliate, but it's got to help with scouting.
