The millions and millions of people who live on the west coast would be a good place to start

All 3 were NBA players. We've already agreed and established the NBA does a better job marketing players than MLB. Some of you are retarded.

I never said he wouldn't appear in a commercial because he plays in LA. I said he's not going to garner the national attention and spotlight as much as someone in an east coast time zone.

Who the frick stays up til 10 PM to watch the Angels plays the As?

Sounds like a baseball issue then. People watch Kobe, CP3, Griffin, Steph from the same time zone.

Right because no NCAA football player has ever had a tougher time garnering Heisman attention because they played on the West coast huh?

I thought we established its a baseball issue. But are you really denying that if he played in pin stripes that more people wouldn't know who Mike Trout is?

There's this west coast school that's tied for the most Heisman winners ever IIRC

you're so right. No athlete ever has gotten less attention on the west coast than the east coast.

If the only way to promote your players is to have them play for the Yankees or Red Sox, you have a problem.

Maybe 30 years ago when people got their sports news from the newspaper. That argument is ridiculous if you're looking at the last 15 years or so

No one said its the only way to promote your players. You still keep dancing around the point that playing on the East coast would help Mike Trout gain more national attention to a casual sports fan. If you can't admit that then conversating with you is beyond pointless.

Playing for a winning franchise is what would help. It has zero to do with his time zone. Barry Bonds and Ken Griffey Jr are two of the most recognizable and talked about baseball players of the last 30 years and both spent their primes on the west coast

Young guys like Bryant, Harper, Trout, Kershaw, etc are highly recognizable and popular

They aren't nearly as popular or recognizable as NFL and NBA stars

Well nobody ever went to watch the Clippers play when the sucked dick.

The Angels fricking blow, so they aren't a hot ticket.

Baseball is very different from basketball. There is only 5 guys on the court at a time for a team. A superstar can take over a game in basketball. They are able to fill up a stat line unlike in baseball. Trout or Harper will have dozens of games every season without a single hit. Rarely will they get 3 or more hits in a game.

I can go on Youtube after basketball games and watch highlight packages on players. A highlight package for a baseball player will be very short.

Being a Yankee would help but you're acting like he plays in Siberia where no one would ever stumble upon him.

I never said anything remotely close to that. You're grossly exaggerating the point of my original comment which was simply that a part of the problem with Trout is the location in which he plays, which is a true comment.

Is it the entire reason why he isn't recognized nationally? No

But if he played in Yankee Stadium it would certainly help his cause. It would also help his cause of the Angels win.

I don't know anything about aside from watching on TV but their park looks bland as hell. I don't know what you could do with them since I'm sure they need to stay out where they are location wise.

But this isn't about ticket sales. Other leagues can market their stars on bad teams in small markets.

Because the Yankees are a famous and prestigious franchise that typically wins. He wouldn't have any higher a profile if he played for Tampa or Baltimore
