College football is very essential to the South especially. Lots and lots of revenue for cities like Baton Rouge etc. not just the campus’s, but all of the businesses around the cities and towns that make the money. It’s huge

In case you haven't noticed this issue is falling along political lines primarily.
Lotta blue states in Big 10 and obviously Pac 12.
Lotta red states in the SEC, Big 12, ACC.

Great, both football and porn shops are essential.

This isn’t about politics; it’s about whether you give a damn about anyone other than youself.

listen here, fricker. I've been renovating my house for 4 months. My downstairs will be 100% complete and fully furnished by the second week of September.
If I don't have football, I ain't gonna take on hiking as a new hobby.
Now, let me be clear here, Baw. If You wanna move this discussion to your nearest Sonic, I will jump in the truck right now

You can agree or disagree as whether college football should be such a vital part of our economy but now is not the time or place. The fact of the matter is that it is a huge part of what keeps a lot of places going financially for the entire year.

People being he without jobs and money also harms and kills people. Unemployment probably causes more harm to people than the virus but no one wants to talk about that. And it’s not all because of money. It’s because jobs gives us a sense of worth. Something that we need as human beings.

He called college football essential. Not "essential". Also that term doesn't really matter unless there is another Phase 0/1 type shutdown.

In Mississippi with the large JUCO system, you can argue it's even more essential than most states.
JUCO kids need the structure and discipline football provides even more than Ole Miss and Mississippi State do.
