Absolutely nothing wrong with a word that he said.

Hell, I've heard speeches like that from coaches and captains of my teams more than once. For some guys, it works. For others, well, not everyone can take getting called out.

I love it. He didn't single anyone out but he got his point across, nothing wrong with that.

If you listen to it again, he singles himself and the rest of his staff out for not preparing the team better.

The problem is he was telling the truth, people don' like hearing the truth. They have a want to have everything sugar coated. to Mike Leach

Oh my, such "controversy" with his "God squad" speech. Again, dude was spot on. He made a very, very relevant point about focusing on the task at hand.

Damn it I kept rewinding and playing it again so I could get that quote on paper and you already beat me to it. Fckin EPIC!!

FWIW he did manage to drop 39 F Bombs in 6:39. If my calculation is right that is one every ten seconds. Well done Mike Leach!!

i don't see anything motivational about that speech if that's the route he is going for. just seems like a whiny after the fact rant that would piss people off at him.

coaches arent' gonna blow smoke up their players arse w/ motivation 100% of the time. Some times they're just gonna tear into their team's arse if they give a shite effort. Happens on every level of sports

He's not going for "motivation". He's calling his team to the carpet for poor play.

Any person who gets pissed off at his coach for calling him out for poor play is a weak minded, weak willed pussy.
