While Michigan did not try very hard on offense in that overtime possession, it was a far cry from Mark Richt taking a knee on 2nd down. At least Michigan ran a couple of plays that could have resulted in a few rushing yards. They did pick up 5 yards in two plays. Richt just decided to take a knee in the middle of the field with two plays left.

Yeah I can't even begin to fathom Richt's thinking. Especially with his kicker under 50% from that range this year. Borderline criminal.

There are a bunch of coaches that need to go to the Les Miles "Camp Lesticles" during the off season.

Watch the replay. As he hits the ground the majority of the ball is below his arm and when he hits it squirts up to where more of the ball is above his arm.

Just out of curiosity, what conference were the refs from in that game?

I have a feeling they won't

Miles has always been a different type. Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, who coached with him at Michigan, was at LSU’s victory against Ohio State in the 2007 BCS title game. Just before the kickoff he asked Miles, “Hey, what’s the game plan?”

“We’re going to go out there, turn the players loose and have fun,” Miles responded.

“Coaches aren’t supposed to be like that in a national championship game,” Cameron says.

I edited it to clarify the ball can't be shifted by the ground, which it was.

This is something I think will make a difference in the game. Our players will be relatively loose while Saban will have his team tight as hell.

this team is no good. well, maybe not exactly no good. but this team is nowhere near national title caliber.
