I would've preferred that.
Dude doesn't realized that he is basically immune from all criticism.
After he makes a tackle he should act like he's jacking dudes off or fingering his butt.
I'd like him more if he took it to the extreme.
ETA: If he's going to bring his sexuality into play, he should go all in. Not half arse it.

They can't cut him, right? I mean, the guy was a legit late round pick, if he got drafted at all, but because of his sexual orientation, we are supposed to feel guilty because he isn't as good a player as he wants us to believe.

I think this is the biggest issue people have with him.
Makes claims that he wants everything to be about football and not his sexuality, yet he is eating this shite up and taking every opportunity to blatantly express his homosexuality. All fine and good, but don't act like you're not taking advantage of the situation. You want to be treated as an average Joe? Don't have a sensual cake licking contest on your partners face in front of the cameras YOU let into your house, then have a press conference as a 7th round pick.
Tebow got plastered by a lot of people for "throwing his beliefs" in everyone's face, yet Michael Sam is celebrated.
