Chandler has one fight in the UFC and gets a title shot, meanwhile Poirier, who won six of his last seven (losing to Khabbi) including a win over Hooker like Chandler, gets the shaft.

Other UFC news:
Khabib is officially retired. How long who knows?

Dillashaw vs. Sandhagen in May

and Cody Garbrandt vs. Rob Font in May

Dustin probably was told “you can have this title shot or Conor 3” and he took the trilogy.

He’s already done the “title” thing

If Chandler wins, I think he thinks he can lure Khabib out of retirement.

If he doenst, then he's going to fight the winner of Conor vs Porier.

Porier took the Conor cash. Can't blame him.

Dana is telling Garthje to go sit in the corner for a while.

Tony is done.

Dustin is about to get paaaaid for the 3rd matchup. His legacy as a UFC fighter is cemented and he’s already a hall of famer . Time to get those checks.

Wanted to see this fight but not for a belt. Oh well best case Dustin beats Conor again and gets paid and then beats the winner of Chandler/Oliveira. I don’t think he would it working out that way.

Poirier refused to fight chandler for the belt. Unless poirier loses a couple of fights he will always be a couple of wins from the title so no big loss on his part. Better hope that mcgregor ones back though, because he just sold that proper 12 shite for another 100 million

Doubt it unless
1. He wins in spectacular fashion
2. Talks mad trash
And
3. Khabib is in the building.

For Khabib to come back, it’s for someone close to his level and the only one is gsp but he’s too past his prime so it won’t happen. The highest pound for pound LW is Poirier and we saw how easy that was for Khabib.

If Usman beats Masvidal and Colby again, Khabib should just say frick it and do a super fight.
But the dude seems really content and doesn't need the money, so I don't really see him unretiring

Usman has publicly said that he will never fight Khabib.

I understand why they are going this way, bc Chandler vs Oliveira headlining a PPV with no title at stake makes no sense.

McGregor vs Poirier for the title would make it bigger than not for the title, but it's going to be a gigantic fight either way..

just glad the title isn't on ice anymore

What!?

Not interested. Not buying. bullshite matchmaking for a vacant title fight. I’m guessing these two demanded the least money.

Oh yeah lmao

“That doesn’t really interest me at this point,” Dustin Poirier told reporters following his victory at UFC 257, after being asked about a potential title fight against Michael Chandler. “I’m going to sell hot sauce if that’s the case.”

I can guarantee I won’t be fighting Michael Chandler. They can do whatever they want with the division, I don’t care. But if something happens that makes sense, we can do it.”

It is a bull shite move by Dana to give Chandler the title shot. Oliveira vs Dustin and Conor vs. Chandler or Dustin vs Conor 3 and Oliveira vs Chandler/Gaethje with the winners fighting for the strap. Oliveira vs Chandler is something I won’t buy out of protest.

No shite, why would he consider fighting Chandler when they were setting up the Conor rematch or going with him vs Oliveira if the Conor rematch fell through

Geez, I can't believe Chandler gets a title fight.

They're all fighting for second place anyway. None of them can beat Khabib.

Khabib not tapping when Dustin had that nasty guillotine sunk in is one of the biggest let downs I’ve experienced following MMA. Dustin squared him up a couple of times too.

He said that 10 min after Dana said he wanted to do chandler vs poirier for the belt. Chandler is fighting for the belt so it’s clear that the plan was for him to fight for the belt.
