Has there ever been a supporting cast make it as far as the conference finals and be this completely useless?
Brunson has had 3 solid games...can't complain about him. Only issue with him is that he and Luka don't fit together perfect on the court because they're both ball dominant ISO guys. One of them has to become a bit better catch and shoot or let one of them drive and the other slash/cut.
Dinwiddie was okay in game 1 and great in game 3, completely disappeared for game 2. Bad thing about him is you get nothing as far as rebounds or facilitating.
Finney Smith and Bullock are your 3 and D guys, but Bullock has had 2/3 pretty bad games offensively, and Finney Smith has been a complete non factor on the offensive end. The team seems to go as they go offensively. If they get hot, Dallas is tough. When they're not...it gets ugly.
Kleber has been hot garbage. He has provided .07 points per minute, cannot defend Green or Looney, cannot protect the rim, and cannot rebound. I'm not sure why Powell still isn't getting any minutes. Kleber isn't helping the offense...might as well see if Powell can get some lobs and at least play defense. I truly think if Dallas had a post guy capable of giving you anything close to 10/10 on any given night and able to play defense and protect the rim, this is a different series.
Bertans and Ntilikina are what they are...just role players to give you a few minutes here and there but they've done absolutely nothing.
Kleber, Powell, Bertans, and Ntikilina haven't hit double digits in any stat even if you combine all 3 games. And they've combined for 158 minutes so far.

LeBitch wouldn’t even make the playoffs with Luka’s supporting cast. Hell, he couldn’t even bring a better roster to the playoffs this year

LeBron already brought the Cavs to the finals with an even worse supporting cast. Try again.

How many points have each of the Mavs given up?
Luka needs to play better defense. Doesn’t have to be All NBA, but he can’t be the worst defensive player in the court…..

I realize that Luka isn't the most athletic and defense is without a doubt what he needs to improve on most...but when you look at the stats, this is probably gonna surprise you...
On the Mavs team in the playoffs, Luka is ranked (per game):
5th in defensive rating (Ntikilina, Bertans, Powell, and Green ahead of him, who barely play which throws off the percentages)
1st in rebounds
1st in steals
2nd in blocks behind Kleber
1st in defensive win shares
On the Mavs team all season, Luka ranked (per game):
1st in steals
1st in rebounds
3rd in blocks behind Porzingas (if we want to count him because technically he was higher when there) and Kleber
4th in defensive win shares behind Bullock, Hardaway Jr, and Kleber.
You can get very in depth with the defensive stats and look at all kinds of advanced metrics here:
NBA Stats
You'll see that while Luka is not the best, he's also not the worst player on the Mavs team at any range on defense. Teams are not targeting him purely because he's an awful defender...teams also choose to target him to wear him down so he's less effective on offense. Goes back to the needing to be in better shape and all...but he'll never be a Giannis, Butler, Kawhi, Lebron, etc who can go at an elite level on both ends of the court. He's not that type of athlete...those dudes are rare. Luka is an offensive specialist who is far better than most are at his size and level of athleticism...just extremely skilled.

I honestly think he is a lot like Dirk. He plays amazing elite level offense but is not the type of player on the defensive end. Which is fine because he seems to always show up on the offensive end. He’s not like some “elite” athletes that don’t play defense and truly don’t even try, he’s just not athletic enough on that end to play elite level defense

I love upsets in series but this is generally why you want the better team to win - unless the upset team makes the final round. Downvote away.
Upsets like this give a free pass to an (usually) inferior team and rob viewers of a decent series. Upstart teams like the Mavs so heavily reliant on one player are very likely to fall of a cliff after a hard fought upset series win.
It was fun to pile on Phoenix and they completely deserved it for choking so hard, but they certainly would have played better against GSW.

Phoenix with whatever version of CP3 that was against Dallas wasn't beating Golden State.

I hate LeRacist irrationally but how old were you for the 07 Finals?
Drew Gooden
Larry Hughes
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Eric Snow
Donyell Marshall
Damon Jones
Boobie Gibson
Anderson Varejao
That’s who Lebron drug with him past the Pistons to get to the Finals that year.

The pre-Heatles years were when I liked LeBron the most

And I vividly remember that playoff run. Anyone comparing this roster Luka has and says that they are worse than what LeBron had in 07 is on some shite

Game 5 yes.

Crap, it’s only 25.
The most amazing thing about this is the score each time he gets a basket. This wasn’t a clutch 12 point run to toe it or a big run to extend a lead that the Pistons eventually tied up.
This dude had to score every one of these baskets to match the Pistons and fricking did it
Damm near each one of them tied the game.
Sports media is an absolute joke, on par with our current MSM. This is most likely more badass than anything MJ has ever done and it gets zero run. It doesn’t even have a name.

I like Luka, but he is no where close to Lebron.

Jordan's flu-game and LeBron's Game 5 vs. the Pistons are the two most impressive things I've ever watched as a basketball fan.
LeBron's Game 6 against Boston in 2012 was special, but was nowhere near the feeling I had watching his Game 5 performance against Detroit.

Had you continued to read, you would have seen that he was the 5th best in defensive rating behind 4 guys who play less than 10 min per game, therefore throwing off their averages. Jackass.

The wins over the Wizards and Nets that year weren't very impressive with players hurt and such...but him beating that team while they were still pretty good was impressive AF. That Pistons crew made another little run at it the next year before finally blowing it all up and going back to sucking where they have been ever since.
