It's even funnier if Luka leaves LA too
You know the league won't let them happen, but it's what he should do. How can he gain back some of that $119mm? I dont get why a player gets fricked if he gets traded without his ok.

I think he will be just fine

It's the rules for that sort of super max, which is only available to teams who draft the player (or traded within the first 4 years). The point is to help small market teams not get poached (and what has happened is those guys just wait to sign the deal THEN demand the trade, like Beal).

Even if Nico was sold on only AD as the main asset coming back in, you’re telling me he couldn’t have shopped Luka on the open market and not gotten substantially more from the Lakers? He gave the Lakers all the leverage in the world by keeping it a secret, it literally makes no sense. League is rigged and knows the Lakers can’t turn it around on their own.

The problem is whenever Luka or Lebron found out then it would be a shite show and Luka would start to demand landing spots while Lebron/Clutch threw temper tantrums through the media

Lebron doesn’t have any power anymore. He’s a 40 year old stat padder, a damn good one but everyone knows he isn’t contributing to playoff wins anymore.

if Luka cares alot about money, this has got to sting quite a bit.
bet he's regretting those daily cheeseburgers and packs of cigs in the offseason now

quote:Exactly. It’s not even about the Luka / AD swap as much as it is about not getting more from the trade.

Yet you have bums like Beal getting the Supermax and he’s basically a 6th man now. What a world. Mavs deserve to be a poverty franchise for years.

His deal is basically why DAL balked.
Just be happy someone was dumb enough to take it off your hands.

Well Luka is a franchise player. Beal was nothing more than a second or third option. Leonsis absolute clown to hand him that contract.

So a player takes less money, like everyone always wants, to help a team and people bitch lol

with his conditioning and injury issues they're concerned about how long he's going to be at that "generational Alpha" level.
One other thing to consider is he played high level pro ball in Europe as a teenager, and he’s got more miles than a typical 26 year old.
