So now people who's team are poorer now, but were the big bag teams, are crying?

weren't to sad when you were one of the few teams who could afford the bags and dominate.

it is NOT college sports any longer.....

It is PAID players that wear your school's uniform and play a game on Saturdays in the fall!

college football died in 2020. This is what y'all wanted. I'm loving watching it burn.

1. You’re goofy if you think players across the board were ever getting paid this kind of money previously.

2. If a schools is rich now, then they were rich before NIL and could have competed then. They just didn’t want to.

People who laugh like this think that $300 handshakes from rogue boosters are the same as a player getting paid $5 million to go play at Texas Tech for ONE SEASON. Spoiler alert: they're not.

Cuban’s an IU grad with frick you money. Why shouldn’t he give back to his school in this way?

He can do what he wants, but I don't understand what he gets out of it.

I'm an LSU fan and alumni. It's great when they win, but it doesn't change my life either way. I'm certainly not giving them millions of dollars, if I was a billionaire.

It would be different if this type of donation was building structures or doing something that makes the institution or team more profitable or capable of generating revenue. But buying coaches and players is fleeting and a short term benefit. These teams are a business and shouldn't require massive additional extraneous funding every year. If they do, it's a bad business and probably won't exist long-term..

The simple fact is you cannot blend amateur college athletics with a multibillion dollar win-at-all costs entertainment industry. As the money grew, it was inevitable that the dam would burst.

But I like this era of college football. I don’t get my rocks off on who wins and loses, and I don’t give a frick if Tommy Touchdown really loves my alma mater or leaves it for a rival. I like watching good athletes compete and fans melt and bitch about it all.

Now that everyone can pay players like Bama once did....

Saban retires...
Bama still gets backdoored into the playoff system so they can get blown out....
Now Bama fans are upset everyone has the same advantage

This is great.

I don't see it being sustainable. I really do think we could see Indiana go 5-7 next year as I imagine like most teams like this will have mass NFL exodus or just graduate.

When you rely heavily on the portal there is always the chance you get burned and burn badly. They have hit on most if not all of their picks but they are a few bad picks from being Florida State 2024.

Actually, it is the same thing just with bigger numbers and on a bigger scale.

The principle and advantages are the same though.....doing more than most of the others at the same point in time....thereby gaining the advantage to get the best players
