This is Day's 8th season I believe.

Comparing what Lanning has done vs Day isn't really close.

He needs to make an actual run at Oregon to get close to Day, and then win one in a few years.

Coaches take over elite programs all the time and don't sustain success.

No coach should sniff a 10 year deal unless they've won multiple NCs....even then I don't find it wise and don't understand why ADs tie themselves to that anchor.

part of the ridiculous aspect of these contracts....they sign a 10 year deal, have some success, and then want an extension a few years into it. I haven't seen any schools successfully negotiate a pay cut for the guys that under perform.....want to get rid of me? Ok give me my full buyout.

I agree, I was just trying to avoid getting downvoted to hell. People love CDL here.
