Manning era isn't over quite yet: Eli likely to start vs Eagles

My favorite part:
Welcome back, Eli. Try to stay above .500.

Eli Manning's career with the New York Giants isn't going to end with him sitting on the bench for the final 14 games of the season.
The two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback is "very likely" to start Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles with rookie Daniel Jones dealing with a "moderate high ankle sprain," coach Pat Shurmur said Wednesday.
Jones, who played through the injury during Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers, was in a boot and didn't practice Wednesday.
quote:
Jones, who supplanted Manning as the Giants' starter after two games, has thrown 18 touchdown passes with 11 interceptions and 10 lost fumbles this season. This could've been the week that the first-round pick finally had all his top weapons available, as there is a realistic chance that tight end Evan Engram (foot) and Golden Tate (concussion) will return on Monday night.
Manning returns to the lineup with the Giants on an eight-game losing streak. It will be his first start since mid-September after being the team's starter for the better part of 15 seasons.
My favorite part:

Manning, whose last victory as a starter came exactly one year to the date of Monday's game.....
Welcome back, Eli. Try to stay above .500.

My hot take to start the year might come true
I said Eli would get benched for Jones. Jones would then get benched for Eli, who would then get benched again for Jones

But Jones isn't getting "benched"
he's hurt.

Eli has by far the funniest character on Gridiron Heights

Manning era won't end, it'll only take a hiatus until their god damned kids are old enough to make it to the league.

Don't ruin my potential victory with facts

there wouldn't be any need for giants to go back to eli otherwise, daniel is eli minus the dan.

Those kids have to have the most absolute awesome life possible.

Cooper's son has already been in the news as a Freshman at Newman

I don't really see a good fit for him anywhere next season. His skills are so diminished he would have to be on a team with a great offensive line and and enough playmakers to carry the load. Maybe Tampa Bay if they acquire some linemen. Bruce Arians revived Kurt Warner's career after it looked like he was done in New York.

Interesting stat about the Giants: Their last win came on the very same day as the Mets last win

Theyve lost 8 straight. This team will rally around eli and if they win, he stays starter

What's really crazy is I don't remember any teams putting themselves out there to pick him up at the deadline. That either tells me he is too expensive, or he really sucks now. Thats hard to believe given that Flacco was still out there until he broke his neck.
