Not when they do the first press release. They typically give as little information as possible and stay away from gender specific terms until they decide how they want to proceed. Not saying it isn't a man, but you are over-analyzing the wording at this point.

I think you're reading too much into it. Still got that Te'o fever.

Maybe Major should give Manti a call. Use a real high voice. I hear Teo is into that.

If track's coaches legal team was about to come forward then Texas is trying to cut her off and control the story. Probably put in adult female to (A) attempt to stress the female was an adult who can make her own decisions(read not pressured by her superior if she worked in the AD) and (B) play up that this was a hetero relationship thus should be less off putting than track coach's lesbian relationship.

I just talked to a friend in Austin who said they had known for a while that he'd screwed a female trainer and was punished for it.

I assume it's the same person. And I assume it's the person they are talking about on Shaggy Bevo.

With the track coach about to sue them it might become a very big deal and might cost a few jobs. Don't forget about Cleve Bryant a couple years back as well. No doubt this coach is going to have a case.

Applewhite is the only coach with a clue currently on the Texas staff, so this is guaranteed to work out well.

The biggest impact of this is that it will be used by other coaches to negatively recruit against Applewhite with mamas. "Well, mama, do you really want your son to be influenced by a guy so morally bankrupt that he would cheat on his wife just days before giving birth to their first child?" Mack has long sold the family atmosphere and really ingratiated himself to parents. This is just going to make that harder, especially as they are trying to transition to Major being the face of their recruiting, and it's also pretty embarrassing. But I don't think anything else will come of it.

Well, if Mack feels it hurts his brand and his recruiting, he can take care of it himself. Still not sure why the regents need to be involved.

Because the school is about be sued by another coach that was fired for a similar offense.
