Mahomes has taken the running and throwing to a whole other level.

Because they have interchangeable WR and they all can run. Even without Mahomes they’d be a playoff team. I mean look at what Smith did in this offense without all the WR they have now.

You're right they would be a playoff team and they would be the same kind of playoff team they were when Alex Smith was their quarterback. Every time they would go up against a team that did not have Brian Hoyer as their quarterback their season would be over. They would be a playoff team without Mahomes. They would not however be a contender for the Super Bowl.

How are prime Brady and Manning better than prime Mahomes?

Mahomes is basically a modern day Elway. That guy was a ridiculous athlete in similar ways to Mahomes and made the same kinds of wow plays. I do think Mahomes has seriously be fitted from the era he is playing in AND more importantly a coach who understands how to use him.

Why?

What was Marino significantly better at compared to Mahomes?

Yes, I understand that stats he put up, but why do you think Mahomes couldn't do the same thing in that scenario?

Marinos arm and release was like no other, not taking anything away from Mahomes he's obviously incredible, just feel like what Marino was doing in the mid 80s in a tougher era was on another level.

Really isn’t that controversial of a take. He’s 2.5 halves from having an MVP, 2 Super Bowls, and 2 Super Bowl MVPs in 3 years

Elway to me was a great athlete that played QB and his hate of Dan Reeves never let him be as great as he could have been.

Mahomes is up there in terms of passing the ball though, but his ability to extend plays and keep his eyes downfield while getting flushed from the pocket is crazy good.

He's mobile, but he doesn't use his mobility to tuck and run the first chance he gets, he uses it to extend the play long enough for a coverage to break down and fire a 20-25 yard dart.

His awareness is insane.

He's not talking about career achievements.

He's talking skill.

Mahomes does things Brady could never do.

He's taken what Rodgers used to do to another level.

There’s 2 other guys who would’ve stacked up huge numbers in this era by the way they played

Staubach
Tarkenton

They were cheat codes

Bradshaw was a cheat code as well but he also knew he didn’t need to just go slinging. I mean he called his own plays and knew when to hit you with big throws. Knoll was a Brown guy, so run it and control LOS was the way to win.

I kind of want to see him without Hill and Kelcie, but he's looked damn good so far in his career.

This. He’s great no doubt but godamn he’s in an amazing situation with the amount of speed on the outside on this team and Kelce working underneath. This roster is a cheat code.

Don’t be jaded
Murray has an arm is faster and can do anything. You put Murray on the Chiefs he’s doing the same thing as Mahomes.

I think you could argue that Reeves never let Elway be what he could’ve been. He was an old school, run the ball, protect the lead Camacho. Elway within this Chiefs team would be Like Mahomes but with a bigger arm.

You may want to be objective. In terms of talent Murray probably is as good as Mahomes. He’s a midget but arm and speed tells you they’re the same.

If you give Murray the Chiefs Offense he’s putting up same numbers.

So because I think Mahomes is more talented than Murray, I'm not objective? But because you think Murray is more talented, you're the objective one?

Got it.

To add to that, Marino, attempted 8400 passes and was only sacked 270 times in his career.
To compare, Elway had 1100 fewer attempts and was sacked 520 times

Marino was ahead of his time and would be amazing in today's QB friendly league.

No I’m saying that you questioned it immediately and said Da fuq . But when you look at skill set objectively. Murray is way closer than you want to admit or even ahead of Mahomes.
