The big 2 are 18/21 for 47 points at half.

Look, I know they are great. But have you seen the way the Magic are going under the screens leaving them WIDE arse open?
Everything is just too easy for Miami. Orlando just does not execute peremiter defense.

The Magic just do not play smart.
Their D (besides Howard) is complete garbage.
Arenas, the Richardsons, Turk, Reddick, Anderson.
That's an opposing 2/3/4's dream (and when Arenas is a PG it's even worse)

But what's the difference from last year?
The peremiter lineup last year was Lewis, Barnes, Carter and Nelson. With Jason Williams the backup, who is unwatchable on defense.
That group actually got in Wade's face and stopped people from having a parade to the free throw line because of driving into the paint.

I think it's funny more than anything else. I'm not trying to hype them or anything by posting the stats.

Last year they had Barnes and Pietrus. Two guys that could at least slow down a star 2/3. This year every 2/3 they have is a bad defender.

Who was it that said the Heat would dominate the Magic in a series?
Oh yea, me.

The entire fricking media. Just like they said Cleveland would in '09.
Everyone says whoever has lebron will dominate anyone. Don't take credit for that.

Except the Heat are actually going to do it.
And FWIW, anyone who knew anything should have had the Magic over the Cavs in '09 and the Celtics over the Cavs in '10.
ETA: NBA series are fun to watch, but the majority of them are easy to predict, even ones between two teams seeded closely.

Magic are back in this one. Hopefully a good 4th quarter.

BTW, in the midst of all this, it's a 9 point game going into the 4th.
This is why I don't think the Heat would "dominate" the Magic. They'd probably ultimately take the series, but Orlando can hang with anybody because of how well they shoot.

Heat shot awful in the 3rd quarter. If that keeps up in the 4th then the Magic will have a good shot.
But it's hard to keep both LeBron and Wade in check.

See, this is what I'm talking about. A perfect opportunity to cut it to 5. Getting stops, and then 3 STRAIGHT TURNOVERS.
STUPID!

Nah, the Heat would destroy the Magic in a playoff series. Likely 4-2 with most of their wins not being competitive. There's no way in hell Orlando would have a shot in a series with Lebron and Wade both shooting nearly 60%, which would happen with those terrible defenders.
Posted on 3/3/11 at 9:23 pm to TulaneTigerFan
The Magic's perimeter defense sucks. No one on their team can guard LeBron and Wade consistently.
I'd still say Heat 4-1.
Heat shooting too many jump shots right now, obviously.
