Linking the story of a great young man who fought back from what should've been a career-ending injury in 2009 to become the heart and soul of not only our basketball program, but the entire university IMO.

It's a long one, but a damn good read.

Haters, frick off. TIA.

Good kid, saw him play in HS a few times. Wish him the best as he moves forward.

La'Ryan has been an inspiration for everyone around the program. After one game this year he had to be carried off by his teammates bc he couldn't walk.

IMO the kid should have his name in the rafters next to Lamar and Toney. He's been that important to the program.

I wouldn't be opposed to it.

Good kid, good story, pretty good player, but putting his name in the rafters is absolutely ridiculous!

If they would win the conference tourny I'd say he belongs.

You should see the football stadium. They have more retirees than monument park in Yankee Stadium.

We should take Brian Mitchell's name down, I mean he is currently second on the NFL's all-time list in all-purpose yardage with 23,330 yards, behind Jerry Rice. His 13 special teams touchdowns are second in NFL history, behind Devin Hester, and his nine punt return touchdowns are third behind Eric Metcalf and Hester, each with 10.

Nothing to be proud of.

Great story, I'm sure what he went through was tough but putting his name is the raters would be a insult to your program.

Well, they earned it by being productive, not rehabing a injury.

Great story and great young man. However, I am surprised that no one has posted 'they aren't Louisiana'

Typical, you point out the most successful. How about Damon Mason ? Glenn LaFleur ? Brandon Stokely ? Orlando Thomas ? Hell, they probably already have Fenroy up ? So you bring up Mitchell, guess you forgot the guy that intercepted the pass to beat aTm

Great player, saw a few ULL games during my freshman year 07-08 and really liked the way he played. I stopped following ULL bball and had no idea about his injury.

Rehanging an injury and inspiring am entire program are two completely different things.

Dude has been important to our program...
