I dont know why people think Melendez has any shot to be the top dog at 155 in the UFC. I think he'd get fricked by someone like Cowboy, let alone the top dogs of the division and the big wrestlers.

I think Melendez's could easily transition over to the UFC and be successful, so could Thomson. Both have a style that could make them very tough match ups for anyone. El Niño is a bad arse, he's proven it over and over.

Jake Shields proved it over and over too outside the UFC.

Shields has looked like Shields in the UFC.... Lol
He's a great grappler, with questionable stand up and stamina.

He got caught and put out against Ellenberger, so what? It happens to all fighters. He's 2-2, with one bad loss.

and one questionable W. From a truly dominant guy outside the UFC to a middle of the pack guy in 2 seconds.

I'm just saying, I think Melendez is good at everything but great at nothing and he'll probably get outstruck or wrestle fricked in the UFC. I hope not as I hate wrestlefrickers more than anyone but I just think thats what will happen. I know he beat Guida but that was like 6 years ago.

To be fair, he dominated Hendo....

Shields is great when he can get you down. If he can't, he struggles,

Hendo was also a fricking zombie in that fight past rd 1, worse than usual with the weight cut being fricked from his back medication. He ragdolled Shields in rd 1 and was very close to finishing him.

He completely dominated him the last four rounds. It's laughable that you're trying to write off Shields and that win against Hendo.

His resume contains wins over
Kampmann
Hendo
Lawler
Mayhem
Sakurai
Condit
Okami
Daley
Akiyama

That's pretty fricking impressive

Did i say he wasnt a good fighter or something? I was pointing out how dominating Strikeforce and Elitexc probably wont equate to UFC glory for Melendez. Shields' UFC fights speak for themselves and there is a reason Dan Henderson doesn't fight at 185 anymore.

There is? Because I remember him recently wanting to fight Anderson for the belt again.

Oh I agree but they are going to most likely have him fight for a number-one contender spot when he comes over. Which that might be his next fight. Nate Diaz's next fight has to be a title fight or worse case a fight for the number-one contender.

How did he have mount for that long and not land a single significant strike? I remember watching that fight and thinking he did more damage than that but I never saw it slowed down before. He might be the worst striker of any legit fighter I've ever seen, then there's Aoki

That's probably news to Daniel. I know him, but some of my close friends are close with him. He's told all of them that that would be his last fight with Strikeforce as it was the last fight on his contract. So unless they are signing him to a one fight deal or he had something his contract forcing him to one more fight outside of his contract, he's done. So I'm sure he's not too happy if that's the case.

Lol..... Shields and Aoki are what they are. Great grapplers with limited striking. Not to mention that Shields' cardio is questionable.
