which is weird cause it looks like the public schools are the ones who voted it in

This plan only works if the private schools continue to play the public schools. That's a big IF and a big gamble. LHSAA is is going to be in real danger in the coming years.

You are absolutely correct. IF they stay and that's a big IF right now.

Try using logic.

The public schools supported this by a big margin

Its mostly the private school supporters that are now bitching

Tanslation: Win for public school football. Who wants to play for a school that cannot win a THE state championship? The recruiting edge wont be as bad

Football wise the private school have huge attendance.

Its kinda hard to know how certain public schools attandance will be until they get a chance to take the playoff spot that the private schools have been getting, isnt it?

Been in both systems. It's not a win for either side. Don't be delusional. There was a better way to fix this. This is alll about 2 dominate private schools. And they should have just made both play 5A. There are plenty of 5a schools that can compete with curtis and evangel. I agree having them in 2a is a joke.

Bigger crowds which lead to bigger gates and bigger concessions which the LHSAA takes 10% of in evey playoff game.

Don't be surprised if the first thing privates do is stop contracting non-district games with public schools.

Stop saying the private schools are more dedicated because that's BS. They have a competitive advantage. The stats don't lie.

I know for a few schools it's already been mentioned. Some of the private schools were ready for this.

Not to mention sponsors for the LHSAA. Several of them are associated with private schools. And if they leave completely some sponsors will likely follow

There are already meetings set up to discuss splitting from the LHSAA.

There is no benefit for private football programs to stay with LHSAA. The one thing that may save the LHSAA is that the split is only for football. Had it been for all sports then I think a mass departure would be all but guaranteed.

Big win for public. I have family that are coaches and principals, not one was opposed. A local Catholic school took players from three high schools and then made the playoffs three years in a row. When the kids stopped coming (because the coach moved on), they rarely have been back.

I know the fathers of the three studs that carried them to the playoffs. Not one of them would have enrolled had they known: No state playoffs

Public schools win big. They've been begging for this for a decade

Wow I shocked the public school guys told you that. Of course they are going to be happy. For now. I said in the long run this is NOT good. You guys really have no clue how this will implode on the public schools if the private schools really split(leave LHSAA)

I honestly do not see how this will hurt the LHSAA financially. It gives the association two, maybe three more championship games. If the private schools leave, which they will not, someone will simply take their place in the championship games and replace the revenue. I think that it is inevitable that the rest of the sports will split.

Private schools will suffer with recruitment. Get used to it. Its happening everywhere, and always at the insistence of public schools, to level the palying ground.

This is such garbage. The majority of the professional football and basketball players from this area come from public schools, not private, so the talent is at the public schools. The private school just work harder and develop better, smarter systems for their athletes.

To be honest, unless you are putting in 40-50 hours a week coaching your sport or doing events that involve promoting your sport, you will get beat by the privates. And guess what, most those coaches do it for little or no money, not the stipend the public school coaches keep a lookout for.
