It's a 2 year experiment...then the Lhsaa will evaluate and may do it for all sports

That doesn't preclude it from being dumb.

And there may not be any schools left to experiment with.

What would be crazy if New Orleans public schools jumped in with the private organization and all BR and NOLA metro schools went with the new organization and before long the LHSAA had to fold because it lost too many members. That would be crazy.

We've got conference realignment at the high school level.
Posted on 1/25/13 at 5:27 pm to GhostofJackson
i hope we'd join it
if JP public schools and Catholic schools join it, that's whom we'd be playing anyway
but a new organization can't be letting every school in, or else it would be the LHSAA all over again

You are right, how about just the schools who voted for the proposition get left out!
Posted on 1/25/13 at 5:29 pm to GhostofJackson
they can have their LHSAA... if you voted yes but you play good football, we'll let you in

I know people were wondering why some schools were absent for the vote, I know LB Landry didn't send a rep because by next school year, they'll be absorbed into OP Walker.

Do the schools have to play the same "district games?" I am assuming there will still be district champions. Those private schools are going to recruit more and show no mercy in those games if they can. Down the line the public schools are going to say we aren't playing them in "district" either.

Listen to the talk coming from the private schools and their supporters. You will quickly realize they have very few options. They are lashing out and the venom is off the charts. When you hear the Jesuit principal discussing there may be possible legislative action you know they are desperate. All this over a playoff change in 1 sport. Nothing in the regular season is changing.

Why does this hurt Jesuit? What am I missing?

So will teams be playing their same mixed districts and then avoiding "select" schools who may be their district rivals come playoff time?

Exactly.

you're dumb.
The select schools will be just fine. Can't wait to see the poor, brokeass schools, run themselves.
