I really do. As ugly as they have done it they have found a way to win EVERY game this year. That takes a hell of an effort.

And as I look at the size of their defense my first thought is that "damn these kids must be playing harder than ANY other team in the state" They sort of remeind me of the '93 WM team. Small and underestimated always but they found a way to win.

I dont want to sound like I am 100% sure WM will win b/c I know how WM does. They could turn the ball over 7 times and lose or Shows could call the plays AGAIN this year screwing WM over again.

I really hope that none of the above happen but I understand that anything can happen and after what I saw last year I wont be shocked if Rummel wins. Their in the big game for 2 reasons: coaching and their kids want it more than anyone else they have played.

Having said all of this I do expect WM to win by a sizeable margin. This is their year. They have the lines to compete with ANYONE in the nation.

West Monroe's fanbase seems to think the game has already been won judging from some of the comments I was reading on their board.

Yes we do. Don't take the comments of a few people and pencil it in as the attitude of the whole fan base. The players have respect and that's all that matters.

FWIW, I talked to a few of the players last night and they were impressed by Rummel's film. The defense might be slightly undersized, but very quick and very technical. We CAN NOT turn the ball over and we have a tendency to do that. Also, we don't always get the benefit of the doubt from the officials. (See Destrehan last year)...

I'm glad this is the championship game and not the second round. I don't think our kids will let up one bit. Having said that, I just wish some of our fans would stop with the "we're gonna blow them out talk". I like our chances, but a cocky attitude will get your arse whipped.

It should be a great game by two great, undefeated teams.

Good Luck...

All it would take is for Turner to get re-hurt and Allen's toe to re-inflame. then you got a less experienced QB in the game and prone to more fumbles. Not that I want that, of course.

RummelTiger is suspiciously absent from this thread. Chicken must have not allowed him to participate b/c of conflict of interest.

I don't remember the exact number but I do remember them announcing that it was the single game record. It was somewhere in the 40ks.

That was the Single DAY record. Which I think was broken in 2000.

Turner hurt = trouble

Allen hurt = WM can survive. The sophmore is damn good and he makes plays. Plus RUmmels offense poses no real threat.

I dont know what Roth has up his sleeve for this one, but he cannot just pound the ball up the middle like he would like to. We are going to suffer the same fate as we have suffered the last 10 years or so if he does that Saturday night.

Yea, to come so close and not get to the Dome at the end. I'm glad we finally made it though. What I'm trying to say is that he has to get out of his run happy mentality for this game. District championships are nice, but state is what its all about.

WM struggles against good passing teams (a la Neville)...that's why I think Rummel better not depend on just running the ball.
