Woohhooooo!!!!!
Didn’t make it today. Tx st graduation was today and didn’t feel like fighting that mess. Sounds like it was fun. Wonder if they ran out of beer again?

Cajuns fall 6-5. Nick Lee came in and allowed two homeruns in the 7th inning to blow the lead.
What happened to Nick Lee? Dude was a stud

quote:I was at this game and had no idea there was a mercy rule in effect until the PA guy came on in the 8th after Southern Miss went up 16-1 and said, "That's your ballgame!" As a Southern Miss fan, I was hoping for more runs because the Eagles had the bases loaded at the time but, oh well, it was disgustingly hot.
USM beat La Tech 16-1 today.

He's unhittable when he's down in the zone and he can bury his nasty change in the dirt, but he's been missing a lot up in the zone so hitters can lay off the changeup

Yep, so true. Very weird for us to lose this way. Let's just get the series today.

Going on the road and taking a series against a top-10 team in the nation
Incredible

Per Kendall Rogers tweet:
With a road series win over Southern Miss, @LATechBSB moves into the 40s of the RPI. Tech is back into the AL discussion, which is a big improvement from last week. Stay tuned!

Yeah great win from Tech. If they finish the reg season and don't flame out in the tourney, they're looking good for an at large

Damn LaTech - congrats on getting back in the hunt.
Hottest and coldest team in nation
I just don’t understand it

I’m still not confident, it’s all going to depend how big the bubble is. Last year ODU was considered a “lock” going into the conference tournament. They even won a game there against a good Florida Atlantic team and still got left out

Young and inexperienced team. Those teams ride the wave but Burroughs has them gelling at the right time

The biggest thing working against y'all is the SOS and number of games against the Top 50. I could see the committee using that against La Tech for sure.

Lions post yet another scrappy road series victory. D1 has their RPI up to #82.
If only these last 3 were on the road...
As we've already known, Lions will have to win the tourney this year, but like many years prior, it's a damn shame that it comes down to that. Like in 2010 & 2015 among others, playing in a low-RPI conference sucks.
Go Lions!

Yeah, the Lions are much better than their RPI shows. A down year for Louisiana colleges has not helped. Teams like McNeese are usually pretty good RPI games. It also helps when Southern has a good year in the SWAC. Usually a very beatable team that also gives you a good OWP bump

Cajuns get the win tonight against the Green Wave 7-6 for the season sweep.
ULM leads McNeese 10-7 at the top of the 10th
Southeastern gets the win against South Al 12-9
UNO with an impressive road win at Southern Miss 14-9
LSU gets the win against Northwestern State 9-5

D1 baseballs projections had La Tech in as of yesterday.
They're more optimistic for the Bulldogs than I am.
I just have a hard time believing that CUSA is getting 3 teams in. CUSA is the 11th ranked RPI conference, and La Tech has a pretty poor SOS by at large standards. I just don't think the committee will be that lenient to a mid major team.
If they sweep their series this weekend (RPI might still drop since that's at home vs a 15-win team) and make a run to the CUSA finals, that might be enough though.
UNO beating Southern Miss didn't help (RPI now at 48).
