I never understood it either until I watched his baseball takes over the past 2 seasons. He loses his mind over things he believes and then his arrogant delivery about it truly disgusts me. It's as if he is above anyone who thinks differently.

He completely lost me this season when he said don't listen to any reasoning Jay gives you about why he pitched Eyanson in game one of Hoover. Moscona said it was only because Jay wasn't sure they had the national seed locked up. That was not true and he should not be calling coaches liars. Jay did want to win one in Hoover to be safe, but he was also planning for the games ahead.

Jay pitched Eyanson out of relief to get him use to that role in case they needed to do it the following Monday or whatever it was and he did! He liked having the option to start Eyanson on the following Friday, so he could relieve another potential regional game. He preferred Eyanson in a relief role over Anderson. And it worked out perfectly. Moscona actually said something about there should always be a plan in place and that is exactly what Jay was doing by pitching Eyanson game one in Hoover. I have no idea why Moscona got pissed about it. It wasn't worth getting upset about. It's just the way he trashes Jay's decisions that bothers me.

It's fine for Matt to have opinions, but it's his delivery that turns me off when it comes to baseball. He is still annoyed about starting Skenes against Tulane even though that worked out. This season has shown you shouldn't take anyone lightly given all the upsets. I was against that decision at the time, but I trusted Jay and gave him the benefit of doubt to see how it all played out and good thing he didn't hold Skenes, because he would have lost him early in game 2 due to the delay. Kept him on his routine and it set the tone for the rest of the Regional.

At this point I don't get why anyone gets pissed at Jay for his decisions. You can disagree without getting upset. Especially before the results. Jay seems to put a lot of thought behind his decisions. Again it's fine to disagree, but it's ridiculous to take it to the level that Moscona takes it.

Another thing I saw recently was Matt got pissy about Curiel batting down in the order for that one game where he hit the homer and drove in some runs. He stated the ball barely got out and what if it hadn't then you had Braswell batting behind him. Well it did get out and Curiel was in position to drive in runs that game. It worked out perfectly. Keep in mind the two guys batting 2 and 3 that day went 0 for 8, so Curiel leading off that game might have been a waste and he wouldn't have been in position to drive anybody in.

I once said earlier in the season I would never move Curiel out of leadoff, but again, I don't get pissy about when it happens and then try to discredit it by saying it barely worked. Especially when it actually worked out pretty well.

I use to routinely watch Matt 's morning show and his AFR show, but his attitude over baseball decisions has lost me as a viewer for the most part.

I definitely prefer Musso at the Box when it comes to baseball coverage.
