lol you said this year, then proceeded to bring up 2014.

you are being a troll and looking to start stuff

fournette doesn't even play most 4th quarters and cook plays in the acc..

get back to us when cook goes for 180 and 2 tds vs florida.

just let the season play out..

I doubt that any of us with one of these backs on our team would trade them for one of the others. They're all that good.

I heard Fournette on a couple of interviews this week. He seems like an outstanding young man which is even more impressive to me than his statistics.

What the frick are you talking about? Cook is FSU's ENTIRE offense

No, they have passed for 1500 yds and run out of 3 or 4 WR sets a lot more than they do out of the I-formation. Hell, gholston is averaging more passing yards a game than Harris' season high of 220 and he has 119 completions which is 10 more than Harris' ATTEMPTS at throwing the ball. They have to respect the pass and can't load up the box against FSU. Its comparing apples to oranges.

He was hurt. Pulled up on a few runs vs. BC

First of all, when you're trying to split hairs on who is the best RB in college football, you can't give Cook a pass because he was hurt. Durability is and should be one of the factors you consider, and this year that has been an issue for Cook.

Second, you cannot be the best RB in CFB while going 15 for 54 yards against Boston College. I'd say the same if Fournette runs for similar numbers against Alabama. You have to put up good numbers when you're going against the best, and 15-54 isn't going to cut it.

Granted, LSU and FSU have different offensive philosophies, but we'll know a little more about Cook vs. Fournette with FSU plays Syracuse and UF down the road. We'll also know more when Fournette plays Alabama.

One other thing I want to point out is the slightly inflated YPC #s for Cook. Against Wake Forest he had two carries - one for 0 yards and one for 94 yards - before he came out due to injury. Obviously it is incredibly unlikely he could have sustained his 47 YPC average for the full game, and while you cannot just remove the stats form the record book, his YPC would drop from 8.67 to 7.97 if you ignore the WF game.

Looking at LSU's drive charts in each game they've played this season, Leonard Fournette absolutely does play "most fourth quarters."

He's still incredibly good, though. Personally find him to be the best RB in the country.

If Fournette had maybe half of the Guice/Williams carries, he'd be at least at 1450 right now. Fournette only gets 65 percent of LSU's RB touches. He sat the entire 4th quarter of the South Carolina game, just because. If they would have kept him in the 4th quarter instead of letting Guice get the garbage time, who knows where he'd be right now.

1. Fournette
2. Chubb
3. Cook
4. Elliot
5. Booker

I would give Henry honorable mention.

You are trolling because your whole point in asking people to list their top 5 running backs was to show that you put Cook ahead of Fournette.

That was your whole point in making the thread, even if you really believe Cook is better.

I'd have McCaffrey in the top five. He's had a monster October.

I had no idea how huge Henry is.. 6'3, 240+?? That is just absurd size for a running back. He has to be the biggest back in college or pros. Not many successful backs over 6'1. Or just havent been in awhile..

What a troll. The second best team in the ACC is FSU and they would lose to at least 5 teams in the SEC

Elliot is outstanding, but please explain what makes him the most complete back in the nation? LF does everything he does, but a little better.

Edited: I'm not going to argue that Elliot is a better RB than Fournette, but there is no debate as to who the better pass-blocker is.
