Above average O-line and a young stud back in Taylor. Plus a solid D. Not the greatest WR corps, but prolly not the worst.

I would love to see it. Get him out of this loser franchise. We just gave a complete imbecile a six year deal to coach.

difficulty staying healthy.

He had the 6th longest consecutive games started streak for a QB in NFL history until 2019 when he broke a bone in his back

Not sure how reliable this person is but thought I'd add

.@49ers & the @Lions are talking about a deal for #MatthewStafford #OnePride

The .@Patriots have also going to be involved in potential talks.....#BillBelichick has consulted ownership on numerous issues in the past!

End of an era, the Lions were my favorite Redzone team over the last decade because Stafford was always slingin it in the 4th quarter trying to rally from behind.

Pats bringing back Patricia could be an issue. He’s not going to be on field but Stafford may decide he doesn’t want to go to another hard practiced belicheck system

If he's traded it's only 20 million this year and 23 million next for his new team so he's very affordable. Probably gonna be a strong market for him.

19 million in dead cap money for Lions if he's gone.

I've always liked him as a QB, hope he can play for a decent team now.

Belichick is not going to pay $30 mil/ for a 30+ yr old gunslinger QB.

These giant QB contracts totally hamstring and organization and that's just not how Belichick operates. If he could get him to take a small paycut, say to $25 mil/yr, he may be more inclined to pull the trigger on Stafford.

Two most likely destinations:

Indy and the Redskins.

Rounding out the top 5:

Denver
New England
Pittsburgh

Dark Horse:

Jacksonville

ETA: So the Jaguars can give the Lions the 25th pick and the 33rd or 45th. Plus they can send Minshew back on a cheap contract if the Lions want a cheap somewhat veteran while they go through their rebuild.

Why would they do it? Well they have the most cap space in the league, they have weapons on offense, plus you don’t put the franchise on a rookie’s back unless you know you have multiple good pieces on both sides of the ball. With Stafford in the fold that gives them two choices:

1. Take Sowell and shore up the tackle position which was the weakest part of their offense.

2. Trade it for a king’s ransom.

Option 1 gives them ability to focus on defense in free agency/draft.

Option 2 gives them the ability to restock the entire depth chart.
