I get it, but you gotta understand this has been in the works for years.

Parents have been trying to get in that school zone before ground was even broke…

The same thing happened in the post integration world of the 70s new schools in some areas became instant powerhouses.

Capt shreve73 state champs, 74 Tara, bonnabel 77 runner ups, ehret 80 (2 1 point losses to champ and runner ups) then 81 state champs

There are many others

Plus people were prepping for this

And it is amazing

Heck look how quickly Madison prep got good

When you know this going to happen rotate subs in earlier even if mixing w 1s.

The gap between the haves and have nots is increasing and it’s also a safety issue

It’s more prevalent in district games too

It's October 18th and second year school Prairieville High School currently sits in 1st place in the 5A - District 5 standing

Unbelievable

Not that surprising. Prairieville was smart and hired someone outside the AP system as their head coach.

Also, 5-5A is one of the worst districts in 5A.

It just takes so much more now to be a competent coach and develop a program… when we had more parity in the old days the game wasn’t nearly as advanced in high school as it is now

It’s got less to do with scheme and more to do with work ethic. Most coaches and administrators are lazy but the ones that aren’t flock to the the top programs to work under the top head coaches and administrations in the state. It’s like Saban has always said, mediocre people don’t like high achievers and high achievers don’t like mediocre people’s

So we get a concentration of really good coaches at a smaller number of schools.

Just watched the SCC vs Legacy replay, and the Comets definitely got a very favorable PI call on their last drive….back judge who threw the flag probably should be reviewed for $$$$ on the game. Damn that was bad, but congrats to the Comets

Clearly not PI and ball was clearly not even catchable in bounds!!!!

Case in point this Riverdale team having a dream season by their standards should be Kyle Walker’s but he left that head coaching job to come back to Chalmette and be our OC…

I think West Monroe’s emphasis on strength in the 90s drove some of this have/have not separation… the places that could, kept up

Holy Cross 42 Easton 29 FINAL

I’ll bet anything the Warren Easton incoming freshman class next year has “less” “seats” so they can drop to 4A… even after their nightmare a few years ago with the fights and the forfeits, who would have seen possibly 0-14 in the Catholic League coming?

Btw next week John Curtis has a trap game

St Aug 7 Rummel 3

Halftime.

St Aug scores on a short field after a Rummel muffed punt.

And they are getting the “leftover” kids, which that has been made a bigger group by the COVID kids(those that for 2 years had no normalcy, social interaction, accountability, consequences of action, instruction, motivation and for all practical purposes education)

I doubt that Easton is a different animal now. Talk to coaches or admins. Easton’s core mission is changing and it includes bringing in responsible and dedicated community members to mentor and guide students and student athletes. They now have a level of accountability that is on par with most of their Catholic league counterparts, further illustrating why charter schools are lapping traditional public’s in many environments(and not just in athletics)

No it's got way more to do with factors multiple factors on the micro/macro level, societal norms and lack of accountability among other things I am not gonna get into. WM had little if anything to do with it. Other than them being pro "play in class" which IS a partial factor.

Not catchable is 100% irrelevant in federation rules or mechanics.

and per NFHS rules the defender restricted the receiver from getting to the ball while not playing the ball. Under NFHS rules there is no "face guarding" meaning the defender does not have to be facing or playing the ball. But on that play the defender is not playing the ball and impeding the receiver from running his route or making a play on the ball. ESPECIALLY from end zone HUDL angle.

100% DPI under federation rules.

Now if that game is played in TX(who does not use federation rules) that may not be DPI.
