St. Michael's jamboree win over Catholic has propelled them to a 4-0 start. They beat Istrouma tonight 32-21 and have Lutcher in 3 weeks.

Yup. Hopefully we can keep him longer than two years. I mean 3-1 with a 1 point loss is unheard of at Live Oak

They might build him a statue in Watson if he beats U-High next week!

#1 ranked Parkview Baptist absolutely destroyed 5A power East St John 51-22 after losing to them last year. Parkview has possibly their fastest and most athletic defense ever this year and will roll Catholic next week(again). Then the 3A state title run begins(again)

Noil and Ellis played, not sure about the other big two.

The end of that STM game was an abortion. STM finishes the game with a timeout, but the clock runs out on a dubious decision by the reff. STM threw the ball out of bounds with three seconds left but the clock ran out with the ball rolling on the ground. White hat should put at least 1 sec on the clock, instead runs off the field.

36-33 Evangel over STM

Great game, STM will go to sleep knowing they should have won this game.

Interesting that Teurlings beat Calvary pretty soundly tonight.

Here is my take. You cannot allow yourself to put the refs in that position. Totally unacceptable the last 20 sec of the game. Step up and down it, snap it and throw it away or hell just fall down but do not get caught running around letting the time run. I'm not saying the refs were right, just that you don't deserve the benefit of the doubt in that situation.

Bergeron said in the post game:
The ball was spotted
The white hat blew his whistle and everybody stopped but the clock was still running
Bergeron realized the clock was running and called for the ball
The ball was snapped, the WRS went out but nobody knew what was going on
Bergeron knew the clock was running out so he threw it away

Ball game

Now in hindsight, call timeout and get collected before snapping it with 12 secs left. I am sure they wanted to save the TO for a FG try but they took it home in their pocket.

What was just as bad was the clock was stopped at 33 secs to move the chains, a false start was called but 5 sec ran off the block on a dead ball.

The reff crew did a great job until the last minute then they threw up all over themselves

It's unfortunate for STM.

They do a lot for the amount of talent that they have this year. Hopefully they will learn from this situation and continue to improve. I'm so impressed at where they are today as opposed to the beginning of the season. The staff has moved some kids around and put them in a place where they can win games.

I see your point about the ending but I still stand by my take. I just think STM is responsible for the outcome more than the refs putting a sec back on the clock. I mean, they had a FG blocked, missed a PAT, dropped an INT that would have made it 34-14 in the 3rd (then lost out on a FUM recovery a few plays later) allowed several 4th down conversions, and had the ball on the 30 with 12 sec and a Timeout?

They are going to be sick watching film tomorrow.

Yeah I agree on all points

They had it in their hands. I believe the staff managed the end of the game thinking the game clock would be managed correctly by the crew. When it wasn't they should have used their timeout to regroup. They didn't and what is done is done

I think this team goes 6-4 or 5-5, gets in as a 18-25 seed and makes a run in the playoff bracket with the right draw. Of course seeing someone like Neville in the second round would screw that up.

Just to put things in perspective:

#7? (5A) Central undefeated

#3 (5A) Barbe beats #3 (2A) Evangel by 1

#2 (2A) Calvary beats #2 (5A) WM & #5 (5A) Carenceo then #2 (4A) Teurlings puts it on them tonight?

STM is probably a Top 10 4A School by the logic

STM has a tough time scheduling
None of the area 5a schools will play them any more so they have to look around. That causes a situation where they are "over scheduled" for what they had coming back, specifically on defense.

Duron threw 56 times and had zero sacks. Ouch

I think they could be 2-4 or 1-5 and then rip through the rest of 5-4a. As of right now, I don't think they win @TCHS but BBHS comes to Cougar Stadium so I think they could win that one. So they could be 6-4 or 5-5, with a 18-25 seed. If they beat barbe somehow they could be in the teens, if they lose to barbe and TCHS they will be in the 20s.

They go on the road in week one, get a high seed coming to them in week two, pull the upset and they could be playing in the third round.
