Andrade was by far the best player in that game. McMain has some talent for sure.

I was flipping though AM stations trying to remember which channel the Prep Football Roundup was on and stumbled on Newman's radio broadcast and they had nothing but praise for McMain. It was surreal hearing that

I'm not really sure how McD35 is this year either though. If I were to guess, they are far superior in terms of talent, but if they fall behind early, they quit. (I hate to stereotype those teams, but they all seem to play this way).

from what I saw in their jamboree game, they have some really good backs. Carlos Henderson, their starter at RB, didn't play. The o-line is HUGE. Their QB fricking sucks and I didn't see anything special from their WR's except for one TD catch which was the only thing right the QB did the whole game

Was it St Paul's offense playing bad or was Lincoln just that good that they made the offense look bad?

I would be surprised if 35 kept it close tonight.

It was hard to tell. I'd say a combination of both. I've seen then play twice now..against Rummel in the jamboree and against lincoln. Adding Curtis to that mix and they have only played great defenses.

I'm hoping that Gaines has a chance to make some big plays in the next couple weeks. He's their only big play threat on offense and barely played last week.

Looking forward to getting destroyed again. I've never seen a smaller, slower team in all my life. They ended up playing 7 or 8 freshmen last week most of which are under 5'6". The upperclassmen aren't much bigger. They look like a 5th/6th grade middle school team.

I actually went to the McD35-St. Paul's game last year (only SPS game I made last season) and remember Henderson. Real big play threat. I think he housed a kickoff that got called back for holding.

I remember Santa Marina on the line too. Absolute mammoth. They had a pretty decent QB last season, but he was a senior, so I'm not sure what they'll have this year. Seems like for NOLA public schools, football prowess operates cyclically.

The one in 2009 was pretty horrible man. Marc Edwards had two feet in. We outplayed them that night.

I agree, it was a very bad call and you did outplay them.

What happened to Redemptorist? They just abruptly became irrelevant.

I feel someone else could answer this better, but the school had no money (wasn't able to pay their coaching staff and had to stop giving as many scholarships as they did) on top of the rise of programs like Zachary and Central who now take the players that Redemptorist would be getting.

They'll at the bottom of the valley, and will eventually rise out of it but not after a few years in 1A.

Damn.. didn't a similar thing happen to Capitol recently as well?

I can remember both of these schools being solid contenders in 4A a few years back.. now they are both doormat 2A teams.

You ever notice how your Purple Knights never lose a game because the opponent was better?

I'm sorry but I don't post on here enough to have seen an instance of where any of my fellow Purple Knights have not given the due respect to a superior opponent. We lost in the playoffs to two very good West Monroe teams. In the last two years, we've been vastly outcoached in the playoffs especially against STM. It's a lot easier to say you just got beat because you weren't as good as the team across the field. However, if you've seen the last two playoffs games against STM and McD 35, you would see that though we had considerably more talent on the field, they had more talent in the booth. So to answer your question, No. I haven't noticed that.
