WM's regular season record from 2000-2009 was 94-4. 3 of the 4 losses came in 2002. The other loss came against Longview, TX. Yes...they need to schedule tougher OOD games.

Lost their starting QB, they're no longer a serious contender eventhough they might be the #1 seed.

No offense JJ, but you don't know much about Rummel. If you think losing our starting QB is what makes us no longer a serious contender, then that proves it.

Defense is the reason Rummel is 9-0. The offense was not good with the other QB before he got hurt, so that has little impact at all. Sure it's a big loss, but the QB doesn't have to do much in Rummel's offense.

As long as the defense holds up like they have been, with no injuries, Rummel is a contender.

Watched about half of the Catholic/Zachary beat down. I'm also impressed with that field and field house. Let's hope the 4 million can put them in the playoffs next year.

You're right I don't know a ton about Rummel. I know that a team that will be on the road in the 1st round held you to 87 total yards and 7 points LAST WEEK. Unless you plan on your defense scoring 2-3 times every week and pitching a shut out, not sure how you can consider yourself a serious contender. When I say contender I mean a legit title winner, not a quarterfinal team. Hahnville, Central, and WM have too much on both sides of the ball for you to win with just a good D.

Xeno...Article on the game:

Teshadi Talton returned the opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown and Paul Turner scampered for two early touchdowns in West Monroe’s 35-7 victory over Pineville in Rebel Stadium Friday night.

The win sealed a 10-0 record and undefeated season for the Rebels.

With West Monroe leading 21-0 with less than seven minutes left in the first quarter, coach Don Shows eased off the gas and played his twos and threes against Pineville coach Mike Richard, Shows’s former quarterback at both West Monroe and Northwestern State.

“I thought we came out and executed real well the first three or four times we had the ball we scored and then we started trying to play everybody because we could have probably scored every possession we had if we kept the ones in there,” Shows said.

“Defensively we got some turnovers and great field position.”

Freshman Cade Stone was a revelation for the Rebels defense, intercepting two passes and providing strong tackling against Pineville’s run game.

Stone is likely to see increased playing time as the Rebels quest to reach the Louisiana Superdome kicks off next week.

“He’s going to play a lot between now and the end of the season, no doubt about it,” Shows said.

“But we’re going to play Tyler Cain, Teshadi Talton, and of course you saw Paul Turner back there tonight. We’ll play Paul when we need to. We won’t put him in there just to put him in there.”

Turner picked up a slight ankle strain while playing quarterback early in the third quarter after Shows re-inserted his first-team offense.

Rummel has problems with big, physical teams like West Monroe, St. Aug, etc. St. Aug, while not the greatest, is HUGE. That was the problem last week.

I would agree with you though. The top 3 should consist of WM, Hahnville, and Central. I'd also throw a healthy Shaw back in there too. They are hitting their stride right now.

Just wanted to point out to you that losing our starting QB is not what will stop Rummel from being a serious contender.

Looking forward to see how the brackets line out for playoffs. Franklinton finished season undefeated 9-0. Glad to see my old high school doing so well. A Franklinton - Lutcher Dome championship would be a historical game.
