"Is it tackle of flag?" Oh , it s definitely tackle and I have seen some of the hardest hits up here that I have ever seen and I played football at East Ascension and played against the likes of Jude Hernandez at Istrouma and Billy Cannon Jr. at Broadmoor and many great teams back in the day at Tara and Lee high School. Definitely will rank the hits in 8 and 6 man football with anything I felt and saw during 11 man football.

Full pads, full contact - just like 11 man game, just played with 8.

I foresee initial equipment costs and facilities being a big issue for Class B & C schools. But I am all about giving all those kids the opportunity to play football.

If those schools get 8-man, they can't go to Winnfield anymore.

Winnfield rarely has a kid transfer from dodson, atlanta,or calvin, actually there are probably more that transfer out than in.

Not really. Will cost a few hundred per kid, nothing that can't be fundraised. There are not really any requirement for facilities. You got a grass field, you got a facility.

I hope they vote it in. My son went to class B and always wanted to play football but it wasn't in the cards. My grandson now goes to the same school ( kindergarten ) ...hopefully it passes

It already passed. Now they just need 16 schools to field a team.

Locker room, weight room, visitors area, bleachers, field goal posts, lights, etc. This all adds up. Most small communities won't be able to fund.

Here's the wikipedia article on it: 8 man football

If I remember right, Jack Pardee, one of the famous Junction Boys who went on to have a bit of success came from a 6 man football team in Texas.

Just for example, the high school I went to is Starks. They could easily set it up on the baseball field which already has lights and stands. Already have a weight room and locker room for B-ball. Initial purchase would be goal post and equipment. Some schools may choose to play home games at larger neighboring schools also.
