If you’re a “have” in the LHSAA you should vote for this

Bump
The transfer rule fails bigly…
273 no
66 yes
They’ll leave the LHSAA open to a court case where a judge could junk their transfer rules, much like the NCAA cant enforce theirs
The principals also approved requiring litigation against the LHSAA to go through the 19th JDC in EBR Parish. I can see that being tested. Will the LHSAA just ignore rulings from any other jurisdiction?
They approved removing schools from the playoffs who file litigation against the LHSAA… clearly aimed at U-High and Newman. This might be problematic in a power grab type of way

You’d be shocked how many kids threaten to leave. Starters. Kids that score 7-8 touchdowns a year in sub varsity. Parents are the worst and this will make it a joke like NCAA.

the porn industry is cleaner than big time college football right now

More than you would think. At some of these small schools….
And these are the kids that are transferring… so they CAN play.

Move. If you want your kid to go to a different school, MOVE. That still hasn’t changed as a legit move is still immediately eligible in most cases. If you say you can’t afford it, whatever school you want to go to has trailer parks, apartments, and Section 8 in their zone somewhere. If it’s not that serious…then…exactly.

I’m not arguing… just pointing out the fact.
And they aren’t always eligible, even with a move. Seems very subjective…( Ahem….Karen Hoyt….)
I think that is part of them problem….

Will say this about the transfer rule vote… I bet Matt Bowers and Elijah Haven was the talk of the ADs and principals the past few days.
Only a matter of time before that NIL deal would have came with a request to transfer

Yea… wish they woulda waited until after to announce lol.
I feel as if a parent can provide transportation, and think it’s in their child’s best interest, then go for it.
But limit it to one time, regardless. If you transfer going into 9th grade, that’s it. If the parent gets transferring for work, etc…. Then they would need to sit a year.

Next will be a vote to change normal football to flag football

If a kid decides to go to a new private school starting in 9th grade, why should the kid have to sit out a year when he/she is starting HS as a new student like everyone else at his/her new school, most of the kids that attend the private school don’t live within the schools associated public school attendance zone, AND, the private school primarily competed against other private schooll?

quote:you know for as common as this is in Louisiana I don’t think I’ve seen this happen once in the seven years I’ve been in Kansas
Well I’d say at the very least this could be a better system then letting a team play 5-7 games or a whole season and then going “oopsie, someone is ineligible. All those wins don’t count now”

Using a quick google search it looks like the last time it’s happened in the state of Kansas was 2018
