Interesting Facts:

This is John Curtis' 16th straight trip to the Superdome. They are 11-4 in that span. If it wasn't for an upset in 1995 they would have 19 straight trips. This is also their 30th appearance in the state title game, they are 23-6 all time.

This is West Monroe's 13th trip in the last 16 years and 4th straight. They are 6-6 in that span.

This is Winnfield's first trip since 1982 (a 23-14 victory over John Curtis)

This is Carencro's first trip since 1996 (a 24-21 loss to West Monroe)

3A is the only class where a team that played last year will not be playing this year. Teams who are making repeat appearances this year were (0-4) last year.

Teams making repeat appearances

Ouachita Christian (a 32-20 loss to White Castle)

John Curtis (a 28-14 loss to Evangel Christian)

Edna Karr (a 34-28 loss to Franklinton)

West Monroe (a 21-14 loss to Acadiana)

Teams all time record in the Prep Football Classic

Ouachita Christian (3-2)
West St. John (2-3)

John Curtis (19-7)
Winnfield (1-0)

Amite (3-2)
St. Charles Catholic (0-2)

Neville (3-3)
Edna Karr (2-2)

West Monroe (7-5)
Carencro (1-1)

Am I reading this wrong or does this not make sense to anyone else?

Neville is 4-3 in the Dome and Karr only has 1 win. This will be another defensive battle. With Neville bringing home our 10th title and 2nd in 3 years.

Go Cougars, hope the home town team can pull it off. Will be a good game. Hope the defense can lead them to a championship.

I was at the PBS SCC game, one of the greatest high school games I've ever seen, Eagles lost with 9 seconds left after SCC kicked a field goal. Being a PBS football alum I was sad to see the Eagles lose, but SCC will definitely win the Championship, too many offensive weapons.

I'd switch your 5A and 4A picks.

If Carencro threw the ball I'd pick them to win. Acadiana last year scored on a long TD pass and set up their other TD with a long pass as well. You can't run on WM consistently. Even Acadiana with the largest OL since late 90's WM couldn't do it last year. Carencro 100% could win Saturday, but they'll need 100 yards or more passing to do so.

Its wrong. Neville won in 82, 84, 95, and 09, lost in 83, 91, 92.

Karr won in 95.

carencro has a great team. but this def for west monroe is as good as they have had in a long time. they will have to pass and balance the attack to have success. but they will stop the run. he may get a few yards but the def. for west monroe bleeds slow.
