Weiner couldn't win it with the team he had in 2006. That team was unreal. Everyone I talk to from Catholic says that he is the main problem.

Do you think they (OPHS) will be pretty good this year? Im not expecting us to beat WM, but do see it possible to make a deep run in the playoffs if we are on opposite sides of the bracket?

Coach Fitzhugh told me they are better than last year. They have an offensive lineman from France or something who is supposed to be really good.

I think Patterson will run the table in the regular season but end up with a low power rating due to schedule weakness like last year.

I think Ouachita has the best receiver combo other than Barbe in the state with Taijuan Thomas and Cameron Sims.

I hear Sol Graves' kid is a good looking QB too.

Also watch out for Franklin to be a surprise team in 3A. They looked legit against Morgan city Friday night.

Honestly, with those two, just put any guy out there that can accurately complete a pass, and you'll be golden. Although, it really bothers me when teams with great receivers lack a competent QB.. it happens time to time.

If Ouachita produces a decent QB, opposing DBs better watch out.

Not sure who is better because I'm not to familiar with the Ouachita duo, but Karr and West Jeff has a say In this also.

I meant to include West Jeff, as I was referring to 5A.

Doesn't Lewis play QB for WJ, though?

I know Riley, Scott and Armond are good targets though.

Edna Karr with Noil (who will play some wide out this year) and Dobard should move the ball very well in 4A.

OCS was up 34-0 on Oak Grove with 10 minutes left in the jamboree.

if that is the year they played acadiana in the semi finals and lost, I would agree. If it wasn't for journet dominating the last drive catholic had on us, catholic would have beat sulphur instead of acadiana.

Last year was their year to make a run to at least the semis and they blew it in the first round.

I know what you mean beacause they were set up nice with the #1 seed last year to make a run. However, I'm an outsider when it comes to St. Pauls and from what I have seen of them so far in their scrimmages they may be more talented this year than last. Their D line is bigger and the Gaines kid is older and will get more carries with Long being gone. The Gaines kid could be special. I don't see Karr beating them. We all know schools like St Pauls have an advantage over schools like Karr early in the year.

I'm a fan of all of the northshore teams and am looking forward to this season.

Others: McMain

With Rounds gone, McMain has no running game at all. In the jamboree, they passed the ball 80% of the time.

Their QB Omari Jones looked good in the jamboree and the coaches were spreading the ball around nicely. WR Michael Andrade is damn near unguardable so they should have no problem hooking up throughout this season

McMain lost a lot of players on D last season and it will be a challenge for them to stop anyone

De La Salle is their only challenge for the 10-3A title.
