Wow, I just noticed that Westgate was redistricted to the Bayou league from the Lafayette-area district. Rape will ensue.

Well, they swept the league last season 6-0. Chances are they do it again. Here are last year's district game results for them:

31-7 Terrebonne
31-14 New Iberia
28-18 South Lafourche
35-0 Central Lafourche
63-28 Thibodaux
30-0 HL Bourgeois

Salmen returns a LOT, but then again, so does Karr, from a state runner up team. I agree, I thought Karr should start off at 2.

We'll see a lot about Karr on Saturday's game (rescheduled from Friday) against St. Paul's.

i watched the Glory Days documentary Sunday, part 2, where they covered from 1967-1977, and it struck me how many different teams made the 3A and 4A (highest class) semifinals in those days

I watched that as well.. the build up of the Fourcade and Tommy Wilcox matchup that never happened sounded pretty awesome. Too bad it never materialized.

That's week 2.

St. Paul's gonna get raped, IMO. But, we shall see.

St Paul's will lose and lose big in both games.

Karr is the superior team IMO. We'll see how it plays out though.

No doubt about that, talent wise. However, last year (2011), Karr was coming off another Superdome loss from the previous year and returned a ton of talent, and St. Paul's waxed them 38-7. In 2010, St. Paul's beat them 28-12.

Teams like Karr, which are superior in talent, always get better as the season progresses. St. Paul's has one of the best workout and conditioning programs in the state (much like WM) and is always far better conditioned early in the season, despite not being as talented. This is why they always do well early on and choke down the road when teams with better talent catch up to them in the playoffs.

We shall see.

I highly doubt they lose big to Karr, that game can go either way.

I know that those type of players come around to a school like Newman once every 10 years. Or in the case of a breed of QBs, twice a decade.

Where do you think they should be? I didnt get to see much of their Jam, but I know they have a good group of receivers. The QB doesnt look to be a great passer though. Their Running Back is supposed to be pretty good this year.
