That Acadiana team was absurd though. The week before the game you are referring to, they dismantled us (St. Paul's). Our RT was injured during the game, so they just lined up Journet on the left side and he was unblockable. They had a guy named Kip Jacob that ran for a TD, caught a pair of TDs and even threw a TD on us. We really overlooked them and were not prepared for the arse beating they handed us.

Remember that game very well. It was my senior year and the day after thanksgiving.

Kip was offered by LSU but didnt have the grades so went to juco. Journet had offers from LSU and Auburn, and committed to auburn but couldn't get his grades up and went to juco. Those two weren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed, but they could play some ball. If it wasn't for kip coming in to play QB in the 4th quarter of championship game no way acadiana wins it that year and same for journet against catholic.

I have always wondered what became of those two.

Understatement of the year. Especially Journet. He should be playing on Sundays.

Yeah, Kip Jacob really came into his own during the playoffs that year. Wasn't he banged up a bit during the season? Because we had like no film on him and really were shocked at how dominant he was.

Kip was our starting QB for pretty much the entire season after morvant went down with a broken wrist. Morvant came back at end of season and kip went back to receiver. He would come in as a change of pace qb

Yeah I'll pass.

Not to brag, but I had about our only decent offensive play all game.. 60 yard run to set up a TD in the 1st half. Received a high ankle sprain when I was tackled and played sparingly the rest of the game. Hated to watch from the sidelines for my last game.
