De La Salle at #1 seems pretty suspect to me. Weren't they really highly ranked and undefeated last year only to get steamrolled by a pretty average Parkview team?

New year and all but #1 in the state? I don't know about that.

UHigh is that good, maybe you should think about it too

I know how good UHigh is, but they are not unbeatable. And kinda can’t stay home nor would I want to, These games are why you play or coach in sports.

There have been a few NOLA teams over the years that have made it to dome without ever having to leave NOLA...

This is the most overrated thought in all of sports.

The better team will win in HS football, the venue doesn't matter.

As others have said, various programs had to do it several times in playoffs and still made it to the Dome while winning it all.

As Jim Mora once said, "Coulda, woulda, shoulda...the good teams come in here and get it done."

I'm talking about the travel time... Not the venue...

Wow a miracle and no coaching do us a favor then stay home.

Take off the rose colored glasses. Did you watch the STM game ? Physically whipped them like dogs, should have been a 21 point win, coaching got in the way. That's just the easiest one to throw out, it's pretty easy to see. Not to mention not ONE Saturday a.m. used for film / conditioning. I can tell you that several kids that play in the varsity games can not even tell you what offense/defense UHigh runs, b/c they don't all watch film. There's a reason why TCH has only beaten Notre Dame 3 times in 25 years, and it 'ain't' talent !

I think that’s one of the many problems with the split. There is a limited number of teams in the state, especially at the Division 1 level. Teams all over the state get screwed by seeding & travel time.

Also, there are few good schools in the central part of the state in any classification. It’s like a huge dead zone that schools have to drive trough to get the their opponent on the other side of the state.

There was a year Evangel was the #2 seed and it fell perfectly where they had to travel the next 4 weeks. They won state that year.

Exactly. There is ZERO justification for making a top 4 seed with a perfect record travel 6 hours in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

If the 18 seed wanted a home game, it should have won more games in the regular season.

First of I can tell you have no clue to actually claim the kids have no clue what Uhigh does is stupid. Considering they practice opponent specific every week. So I seriously doubt you know any and if you and they told u that because they know u are gullible or they don’t play and just stand on the sideline.. and just your info they don’t Come on Saturday because of our rolling block schedule at school. If you are ignorant enough to think they don’t watch film then you need help and have no clue. The coaches are there most of the weekend working..... and the kids watch Film all week In Athletic PE and they all have there own hudl account when they watch as well..As far as the STM had a much better view than most and the game turned due to turnovers and penalties In the second half. one which cost a touchdown when a our offense turned the ball over due to a misread signal and the other gave STM a short field. And yes coaches make mistakes as well in every game for every team. But that’s part of the game when you have teenagers playing. This is not peewee football not easy coaching high school there bud. But I know Fans think they are better than the coaches on Friday nights,But hey you actually think coaches carry the ball and throw the ball and tackle but hey you are all knowing about this kind of stuff coaches just show up unprepared every week and hope for the best with teenagers. Team doesn’t practice or work on anything.
I just hope the kids don’t listen to people like you because that can have an affect on the way they play.
And yes Notre Dame has beaten us up over the years. And Not happy about it a major problem worked on
But don’t spout of crap that you don’t know. Kids not watching film is ignorant. It’s called athletic PE for over and hour for multiple days during the week. I guess you think the team just plays dodge ball and Simon says..
Please get a clue
